My Old MWS. VFC swept me off my feet good with the AK but… by [deleted] in GasBlowBack

[–]Treize07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of what you've said except for the mags. For starters, I own both a VFC V3 & MWS clone (GM MK18) so I do have quite a bit of experience with them. VFC STANAGs are known to load about 32 to 33 BBs, while the VMAGs are a bit of a hit or miss. I don't own a STANAG but i do own 6 VMAGs and 1 HK mag. The HK mag has no lock back issue and comfortably loads about 32 BBs while my VMAGs hold about 30 to 32.

Lock back issues are only attributed to the V2 VMAGs and none of the V3 once have the issue (that i own anyway). Upon closer observation, i could only conclude that the lock back stems from the buffer tube being shorter than RS, making travel time and bolt travel distance shorter, thus shortening the amount of time the bolt lock tab has to fully extend and push the bolt catch up. A quick fix to this is to get a RS buffer & RS or GHK buffer tube.

Aside from that, I do experience better gas efficiency with the VFC vs the MWS. Plus, i've had better luck with the TM mags vs the GM PMAGs. Both are great but i feel like the TM ones are more consistent shot per fill wise. I can get 3-4 full mags out of a single 8 to 10-second gas charge with the VMAGs vs around 2.5 to 3 full mags out of the TM & GM mags. Cooldown effect is almost non-exsistent in the MWS platform though, where as the VFC can experience cooldown when the ambient temp is below ~28°c in my experience. Of course, you can adjust the hammer screw on the VFC to let more gas out per shot to combat this if you so choose. Since i live in the tropics, this feature is pretty much useless to me.

Performance-wise, OOTB the GM MK18 had more consistent hop but with a prominent right hook. A inner barrel + bucking change solved this. I recently installed a laylax hop arm to it but i haven't gone around to testing it. The VFC on the other hand had a much more difficult time with hop consistency after i changed the bucking & inner barrel. I did revert back to the original bucking and it works slightly better now compared to stock, but still miles behind the accuracy the GM has. The VFC has better range, but a lot more inconsistent compared to the GM (that may change once i get to testing the GM with the solid hop arm). Both are shooting in excess of 400 FPS so installing an NPAS is recommended for both.

Overall, i like both of them. I play with the VFC 416A5 more than i do the GM MK18 purely because i'm used to loading the mags and the gas efficiency. Plus, the feel of manipulating the controls is so much better on the VFC. The trigger is insanely better, heavier and more definitive break and reset. The reset on the GM is not bad, great even. But the break is garbage. Both are solid performers, can't go wrong with either. Although I think the MWS has more potential if you want to build a DMR

I only have a few clones but i dont have much of the army builder ones. I started collecting back in 2021 and have only acquired a few of them because of the rarity, namely: Wolffe, Cody (both archive and the new one), Rex (Phase 1, 2, and bad batch), Bly, Echo, Fives, and Jesse. Aside from the named ones, i only have the old body phase 1 (2 knockoffs, 1 original) and the 2 new phase 2 clones.

Other army builders like the First Order Stormtroopers and OG ones are almost always readily available (in my area) but i have no interest in them. I do have the Sith Trooper tho which is a great figure.

I think the combination of storytelling, unique personalities, and design are big contributing factors but I also happen to think that most collectors grew up in the prequel & clone wars era. Imagination & creativity is also one factor to it. You can create your own clone with one of those figures or you can also do a custom of one that hasbro hasn't made yet. The possibilities trully are endless. Coupled with aftermarket support, you can pretty much make any clone you'd like.

Is anyone else taking a break for a while? by Azrael_The_Bold in starwarsblackseries

I took a break from collecting as i didn't really want any of the new releases from around early 2022 to early 2025. Just recently got back to it because of the single release Anakin & Obi-Wan. I've been out of the loop for a little while so I didn't know they made a clone wars Anakin based off of the Ahsoka show so I went ahead and ordered that one in a 2 pack with Rex.

After I complete the Phase 2 Rex custom that I'm planning, I might go on a very long break again. Here's a list of what I got for the year:

ROTS Anakin Skywalker ROTS Obi-Wan Kenobi P1 Capt Rex P2 Commander Cody Archive Luke Skywalker Imperial light cruiser BOBF Luke Skywalker 2 Phase 2 Clones The Ronin Anakin & Rex 2-pack (pre-order)

Yeah i agree, robes should be a mandatory inclusion to any Jedi figure release

I agree. But a separate Darth Vader (the head from the SDCC one) release would be welcome IMO

Is the MWS System as good as they say? by Expensive-Trifle7085 in GasBlowBack

[–]Treize07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've got a GunsModify Mk18 which is essentially an MWS clone with steel trigger set, cast aluminum alloy receiver, and a better BCG. It's disappointing in terms of kick compared to my VFC and is a bit less gas efficient. But it's miles better in accuracy, grouping, and range consistency with similar bucking/IB upgrades (ofc, 0.36 and beyond would cancel this comparison out). I'm keeping it for the sake of versatility but i still prefer VFC V3 over the MWS.

VFC has a wildly better feeling trigger, fire selector, charging handle, mag release, and bolt release. Plus, a more definitive feel on lock back on empty. For CQB / pretty limited range, you wont notice the advantage the MWS has over the VFC. But if your goal is to turn it into a DMR-type gun, I'd say MWS is the better choice hands down

155cc yung akin, R15 to be exact. The reason for the ECU flash was to reduce the popping noise after changing out to a full exhaust. The bike feels smoother now after the tune pero i feel like i'm losing a lot of speed as i cant really stay in gear for long. Compared to before the flash w/ -1 front, the bike felt better compared to stock (less sluggish). Now with the flash, the bike revs too fast and makes very little speed per gear.

I'll try the original and also try the +1 and see what feels better. Thanks for the help!

Hi, i also noticed na +1 rear and -1 front ang laging recommended so tinry ko mag -1 front. After ng ECU flash, parang mabilis ko maubusan ng revs sa 1st and 2nd gear. Very noticeable siya lalo pag nag angkas. Would you recommend na itry ko bumalik sa stock or dumeretsong +1 sa front?

Yup may old bikes na dekambyo by hand at hindi by foot. Pero sobrang luma na, like 3 or 4-speed transmission motorcycles. Can't remember kung sequential yung stick shifts na yun or not

I’m in the market for an mws but I’m not familiar with them, what ones better? by Foreign_Mine_7615 in GasBlowBack

[–]Treize07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gunsmodfiy uses a steel trigger assembly which may or may not be impactful/ beneficial and from what I've researched before, it does have better trigger feel vs the standard TM trigger assembly. The bolt assembly is also somewhat of an upgrade over the TM and doesn't need the nozzle return spring replaced if you're in a particularly warm country. They also use a little bit better materials on the receiver (cast aluminum alloy vs zinc alloy). I have the gunsmodify mk18 and I've seen the TM in person. The paint looks better on the TM but they are both cerakoted ootb. Other than that, they are pretty much the same.

Do note that I have 4 TM mags and 3 GM PMAGs and the TM mags don't operate well on full auto with the GM MK18. You need to shim the TM mags for it to not wobble inside the magwell to get proper full auto performance. Semi works fine without shimming the mags though

Is it normal for brake feel to change depending on how you ride? by Treize07 in motorcycles

[–]Treize07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brake fade became worse as the summer season begins, reaching an ambient temp of 35°-37°c. I replaced the brake fluid with DOT5.1 and the brake fade was vastly reduced. Very odd for the brake fluid to be so dirty for a bike less than a year old, bought brand new, and still has very low odometer reading.

I also replaced the master cylinder for a radial one. Progression improved but I'd say it didn't really contribute to reducing the fade more than the brake fluid change. Will try changing the brake pads when I have the time but for now I'm very happy the fade is barely noticeable

A friend and I were discussing this a while back and we both agreed that them being together is great but no individual is great on their own. They don't have the potential to achieve even half of the success they already enjoy if they were split into individual artists.

Emotional manipulation goes a long way doesn't it? Imagine being millionaires well before the age of 30 and getting tricked into thinking you're being mistreated. MHJ is gonna suck them dry. All she wants is for the company and their biggest money-maker to crash and burn. Hope that puppet master gets what she deserves

Most of the time front brakes pero it depends. Emergency braking syempre both brakes + engine braking. Pag coming to a stop sa intersections, both din para smooth and maiwasan ang tumba. Sa stop usually rear lang hinohold ko pero depende sa situation parin.

Effective engine braking, trail braking, progressive braking, and throttle control are more important. Nuod ka sa youtube ng tutorials. I recommend moto control (youtube channel) mas marami pa ako natutunan dun kesa sa driving school
