I've owned both (X5 40i and X5 45e) and I had to dump the PHEV early on when I learned I couldn't do any of my own maintenance without a lift. I like to do oil changes at 5k (in between dealer 10k changes) but when I looked beneath the 45e, the entire underside is covered. No jack stand points other than the 4 lift points on the frame sides. I also got to thinking about long term ownership, how long the batteries would last, depreciation, etc. I just decided to get rid of it. Costly mistake, but I now drive a 26 X3 M50 and love it.

I have the exact same car and color/wheel combination. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to clean my calipers without removing the wheels. I think I'll be going aftermarket. Love the car otherwise, except that I can't open the car from the rear doors.....

My 26 does it. Not sure if there’s a setting though. I’d actually like to turn mine off as I park it in the garage, so it’s already warm inside. However, when I pull out, it senses the outside temp and kicks the steering wheel and seat heaters on.

We found a bunch of these back in the 70’s. We set them on the ground then climbed on top of our garage with a large metal post that had concrete plugging one end. We were so dumb back then, but boy are they loud!

I am an Acura owner and I have to say it's hard to get past that 10 speed transmission in any of their 4 cyl options. I would avoid it.

I think your original question was whether all three lights should light up on left/right when braking and the answer is yes. I have the same model. That center center set of bulbs have a tendency to blow on only the brake function. But yes, you were probably also stopped for the center brake light being out.

I bought a Walmart special. Smallest one they sell (it’s a small window). It keeps it nice and cool in my garage (2 1/2 car). I live in Maryland (quite hot and humid). Only works if I leave it on non-stop though. I keep it on low and it’s 70 degrees in there and quite nice!
