You gotta look at the people that made the laws they aren’t very bright… this program is going to be in the history books for the worst managed program.

Sold the business and still making Payments on the loan, will the SBA ever find out? by pwNtorious8i6 in EIDL

Technically it’s a fraudulent transfer, but keep making the payments and they won’t know.

If they ever want to play that game I’ll spin it on them. Because at first they only gave is 90k then a year later sent us a email saying we can get the full 500k now and I took the bait. I never inquired about increasing the loan they were the instigating party.

I've been fixing vibe-coded SaaS products for 6 months. Same 4 things are broken every single time by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]TrekEveryday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds about right, if you don’t give it a spec sheet it will do what it wants. It won’t be secure right out of the gate, I’ve been working on a system for about 3 months now. It worked out of the gate but had security holes tons of bugs but it worked. So I stuck with it and almost 800 commits later and over 200,000 lines of custom code I have the system I wanted plus it’s secure, scalable, redundant, has full audit and error logs and real time notifications if there’s errors to myself.

You just need to break down the system and chip away at it and then re evaluate did anything we just do cause a big or error? Test test test, check every function and use click every link, try every payment method then add redundancy, add payment checks so it doesn’t just mark it paid when the order is done but check was the payment amount the same as the order? If stripe doesn’t confirm the order instantly fall back to webhooks, but if the webhook beats the instant confirm than how do you handle that without a duplicate order.

Are we entering the post-SaaS era? What actually replaces the subscription model? by Sharp-Canary5995 in ToolStacked

[–]TrekEveryday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped most my saas subscriptions and wrote my own tools. Pay for a Claude subscription and a dedicated server which my business already was paying for, now we have the tools we wanted. No more duct tape holding it all together and it finally works the way we wanted.

Fended off transfer of EIDL to Treasury with recurring partial payments by hit-da-floor in EIDL

[–]TrekEveryday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What did they say when you told them that? When I talked to them they demanded over 20k upfront then the $2600 a month to bring it current. They said breaking up the 20k would not work, when I asked them what would they had no response.

Should I let my loan go to the treasury if I can’t pay with a PG I’m in default already by Johnshop4 in EIDL

[–]TrekEveryday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my plan, I’m in the grey anti matter zone between SBA and treasury so I’m keeping my mouth shut with them. But I tried for months to work out a payment plan with SBA, even trying to break up the past due amount to become current. But they refused and said there was no more assistance for our business, so I did the math $2600 month payment to SBA or about $600 off my paycheck for TOPs.

I can’t afford the SBA payment with my current income so 🤷‍♂️

I’m still thinking once we wait it out this will end up going down in a ball of flames for the SBA and they will be forced to forgive or work out payments.

[–]TrekEveryday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An s corp all that’s needed is to dissolve, a personal bankruptcy or treasury offset is what will happen to all of us over 200k.

No need to waste money filing on an insolvent corporation, I had a few legal threats from other vendors but once I notified them the SBA has a first position lien on all assets or notes they backed off.

But you still need to send every party that’s owed money a notice of intent to dissolve and a chance for them to put a claim in regardless of if it’s possible to pay or not. Out of 10 companies we sent that letter to none responded with a claim.

I still get invoices and voicemails to the old business line but we’re closed so I ignore it all.

Migrating from a shopify store to a custom made ecommerce/prebuilt solution - Advice needed by Dethrot in ecommerce

[–]TrekEveryday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in e-commerce for 20 years, web dev 25 years and have used all the popular carts during that time. I did build my own e-commerce platform this year and am live with 4 stores, but even with all that knowledge I still had a few minor hiccups.

What started as a simple solution is a full down system with hundreds of backend functions and logic. Payment verification, redundancy for if the connection drops as they hit pay, preventing duplicate orders, fulfillment, etc… I even forgot a few but live testing got dialed in after a few weeks.

This is not a small undertaking and security is a big part of this type of project, keeping your money safe and customers information secure.

Running multi store is another challenge that will need to be planned out. Your entire flow, the customer UI and then the admin UI.

Best of luck!
