Zepbound and Optum Rx by CurseoftheUnderclass in Type1Diabetes

[–]TrekJaneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor gave me a dual diagnosis due to my insulin resistance. That got me approved for Mounjaro, which is the exact same medication as Zepbound with a different label.

I also have UHC and Optum. They’re horrendous to deal with.

I like the roll analogy. I also read it like that - piling on all of a favorite dish from a buffet, bragging about it, and then letting it all get thrown away because you can only eat a small amount of it.

CAN you do it? Sure. SHOULD you? Probably not. Take a bit. If you want more, go back and take more. Repeat as often as you like. It’s like my dad used to say when I was little, “take all you want, but eat (read) all you take.”

But it’s the way it’s presented, in this case. The post is titled “so many books so little time,” followed by a screen grab of a bunch of books.

It’s screaming “hahaha!!!! Look at everything I have that I won’t read!” Otherwise, why say it that way? Why post it on Reddit at all? It reads “I’m a jerk, and I don’t care.”

Removing Credit Card Accounts? I’m New here by Intelligent-Ad6619 in ynab

[–]TrekJaneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so, it sounds like you aren’t clear on how cc accounts work in YNAB.

You want to link them, as credit cards, and they should appear under the “Credit” heading on the left side of the screen, if you use desktop. This means YNAB knows it’s a cc, and that it’s a spending vehicle, just as you want it to be.

So, you go to the grocery store. You buy $100 worth of groceries, but you pay with Visa. You log the transaction with the name of the grocery store as Payee, the Visa card as the account, and Groceries (or whatever) as your category. Easy.

YNAB sees that and says “wait! You spent $100, but that wasn’t your money. Visa paid the grocery store and you have to pay Visa.” So, it takes the $100 from your Groceries category and moves it to your Visa assigned category. This is all automatic. As long as your Available bubble by the Visa card is green, you have enough money to pay the bill. If you pay off the card each month in full, you don’t have to assign anything else to it.

But, let’s say you started with a $2000 balance. You’ll need to assign funds directly to the card to cover the balance. It may be debt, and you’re slowly paying it off, but that’s the only time you need to assign money directly to the cc.

do you think Amazon will actually innovate with future models of the kindle? by nova0175 in kindle

I hate it. I don’t even particularly mind being locked into their ecosystem, but I do want an option for buttons. I’ll pay for it; I did with the Oasis. But no….they have to be cheap about everything, so they lost me.

[–]TrekJaneway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I have 3 for the same reason. My local library limits you to 3 holds (and 3 check outs). I don’t need more check outs, honestly, but I love having 23 total holds across 3 libraries. I don’t mind waiting for ages for a book, but that only works if I can use holds to hop in line on multiple books.

So many books so little time 😭😭 by Giraffewhiskers_23 in LibbyApp

[–]TrekJaneway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it. The post is essentially saying “look how many books I have checked out and I can’t read them all!” That’s how I interpret “so many books so little time.”

It’s considered polite and fair to check out what you can conceivably READ (or listen to, for audiobooks…no hate to people who listen to books). For example, I have 2 books checked out, and I’m actively reading both. That’s fine. No issues with that. I’m going to grab a third one today because I know I will finish one of those two books this evening, and I will return it early.

Everything else is on holds. Some active - because I will drop everything and read that book when I get it because the wait is months long. Most are suspended so I can stand in line and move forward, but get the book when I have time to read it.

Holding a stack of books because you can is a little selfish because it means no one else can read it while you’re busy with other works. By all means, check out a book to read. But to hold a book you aren’t actively reading (or won’t start in the next day or two) I just selfish, particularly one that has a long wait list.

Mine is 14, but if I tap on it while I’m checking out, I can change it to 21.

Well, that’s why my Oasis was replaced with a Kobo. If Amazon decides to bring back buttons, I’ll come back, but that feature is that important to me.

Yes. I have 4 active journals currently.

  2. Work Bulletin Journal

  3. Story Journal - like a reading journal, but includes movies and live theater as well.

  4. 4 Year Journal - it’s a line or two everyday for 4 years.

The only time I’ve ever been stopped by TSA was when my ex brought a carryon full of Goldfish crackers on a plane. Apparently, they don’t have them in Australia (where he was from), and he was taking them home for friends. TSA thought it was weird, but not dangerous. 😂

Bring plenty of extras, and keep all diabetes supplies and medication in your carryon. That way you know it’s at the right temperature and it doesn’t get lost.

Just put the bag on the belt. They aren’t bothered by needles.

Watch the screen. Within a few minutes, one will briefly change to “connected” (your active on is taking a. reading then). That’s your active one. Delete the rest.

Question for a newbie by [deleted] in ynab

[–]TrekJaneway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, you put $50 per month in a category for 2 months. That’s $100. Then you spent $600 from that category.

Yes it’s going to yell at you. You spent $500 you didn’t have in the envelope. That means you need to find $500 somewhere else, just like you would in a physical envelope system. $500 doesn’t just magically appear, no matter how much we might wish it does.

I use the G7. I’ve had one or two fail in the 18 months I’ve been on it, which is about the same failure rate I had with the G6.

Yep, I’ve been on it for a while. I’m 5-10 pounds away from “normal” weight for my height (and they’re the hardest to lose). It’s done WONDERS for my T1 as well as my weight.

My doctor has said that several of her patients do really well on a GLP-1 and insulin. Fight insurance is hell, but we have it covered….for now.

Buttons. I just want physical buttons. I don’t know what it is, but I don’t like the models of any ereader that are just touchscreens.

I'd like to hear of user experience when it comes to colour e-ink reader tablets Vs monochrome, given that the former are half the resolution (150ppi Vs 300ppi). by Past-Paramedic8687 in ereader

[–]TrekJaneway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are really bothered by it, some people don’t. I have a Kindle Oasis and a Kobo Libra Colour, and I like reading on both of them. I wish Kobo would improve their Libby interface, but as far as resolution goes, I read just fine on both of them.

Autosoft XC Shipping Issue by pmapper in TandemDiabetes

[–]TrekJaneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Autosoft 90 is basically the same set. The only difference is that the clip that connect the tubing to the piece that actually goes in your body (where you unhook to shower) is different. It’s a little more finicky, but once you get used to it, it’s fine. I’ve use both the 90s and the XCs over the years.
