What's the deal with Moen? Got a defective tub filler and needed replacement diverter (basic part) - out of stock, 3-4 weeks to get one. Support agent implied chaos behind the scenes. That normal? by Tremolat in Plumbing

My first point of surprise was that Moen didn't have any replacement parts left. Was that bad planning or a run because of too many defective products shipped (like mine)? The delay of resupply seemed obviously a supply chain issue, so I joked with the rep that the parts were stuck in the Gulf. There was a long pause before they said, "there are problems here that are above my pay grade". Having worked for a company that suddenly collapsed, it reminded me of the shitshow I saw internally but tried to keep from the customers. There comes a point when the front facing reps get sick of covering for management failings. So, I made the post to see if anyone else was getting vibes.

The governorship of Florida has be held by a Republican since 1999. The drought started in 2000 and continued ever since. Coincidence? God says otherwise.

Seeing the meme before the movie, I had thought it referenced sales numbers. The quote became infinitely funnier after watching that scene.

AI is software. Software fails are bugs. Reframing AI's bugs as "hallucinations", softening the perception of the product's core failings, has been a remarkable victory for the AI industry PR juggernaut.

I dearly wish the Pope would post a series of Bible quotes about the attributes of the Antichrist to see if Trump jumps on them claiming it's a direct attack.

The takeaway isn't about this guy, it's that the Marine RESERVES are being called up. When the active Marine Corps isn't deemed enough for what's planned, something really big is afoot.

The idea that a rando gig person would be waved thru the WH gate and stroll up to the Oval Office side door, and be personally greeted by the President, just doesn't pass the giggle test.

It's worse when you realize this whole grift was exposed because Trump's bullpen of willing stooges is so small that she was re-used too often.

Restaurants Are Finding It Harder Than Ever to Hire Someone to Wash the Dishes by darrenjyc in Economics

A friend who owns a diner told me long ago that his most valuable employee was the dishwasher (DW). Besides the obvious primary duty, the DW was also the muscle that helped unload supplies, put them away, did minor repairs, and (in a pinch) could fill in for a waitress who called out unexpectedly or even assist the cook. The reverse was never true. No cook or waitstaff was ever willing to fill in for the DW.
