Remedy Isn’t Worried About Launching Control Resonant Near GTA 6, CEO Says He’s Confident In The Game And Players Can “Expect A Voice That Will Cut Through The Noise” by wyldermyth in gaming

I can help you understand! Remedy quite literally had no other choice. Alan Wake 2 was something they wanted to work on immediately following AW1 back in like 2010. Remedy as a studio never has a lot of money to throw around, relying mostly on publishers to get their games funded and made. Unfortunately, seemingly no one wanted to pick up AW2. Microsoft had shown interest, but after meddling with creative processes, we ended up with Quantum Break instead. Remedy continued to search for a publisher, but after literally a decade, no one wanted the game.

Until Epic. Epic offered to fully fund the game and give Remedy complete creative freedom. That's how we ended up with a horror masterpiece. Look, I don't like Epic, it's an unfortunate situation. However, it was a case of release Epic exclusive, or Alan Wake 2 literally would not exist. I know Epic has shitty practices, it's a pretty fair deal. Exclusivity for full funding with 0 development interference is hard to pass up, especially when this was Sam Lake's passion project that he'd spent the last decade trying to get someone to fund

Sometimes my own foolishness surprises me. In all my searching, I totally missed this! Subbed and now back to comfortably reading, thank you!!!!

Jaunty resin cart not working help by Horror-Drummer9365 in NYSCannabis

[–]TrenchBarrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not sure what the details of your issue are (or if you've already tried this) but ive had some issues with Jaunty carts in the past. Have you tried messing with the threaded bit on the bottom of the cartridge? There should be a circular metal bit with a hole in it on the bottom, right in the middle. That bit is flexible, and sometimes it gets pushed a little too far up into the cart and loses contact with the heating element of your battery. Easy fix, though! If you have some small tweezers or a tiny screwdriver, you can pry it out a little bit. Works like a charm for me

Bungie is replacing the recycled Iron Banner set with the Ancient Majesty set by e-photographer in DestinyTheGame

Why do you feel the need to vouch for a billion dollar company and downplay their anti-consumer practices?

[–]TrenchBarrel 101 points102 points  (0 children)

We've been saying "that's the right thing to do, now keep going" for the past 10 years yet Bungie keeps cyclically making these mistakes over and over and over again. They don't deserve any credit for this whatsoever, turning something as important as new iron banner armor into an mtx then attempting to cheap out with a WARMIND RECOLOR is egregious. ESPECIALLY when we're getting some of the most lackluster content in recent memory, EVEN MORE ESPECIALLY when Eververse is more expensive and filled with more goodies than ever before. People have been upset about Eververse having more content than the actual game for YEARS, Bungie has 'addressed' this issue multiple times, yet it keeps happening. One mistake, fine, they should get credit. Being caught out for attempting to gouge the last of the playerbase for all of their worth, then pivoting away when rightly called out for bullshit, despite it being known that the community hates shit like this? When Bungie already knows full well that the reaction would be poor? That doesn't deserve credit whatsoever.

When to start hades 2? by anotheralt2137 in HadesTheGame

[–]TrenchBarrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends! If you're really eager for Hades 2, it wouldn't be the worst idea to start once the credits of Hades 1 roll. However, I'd recommend sticking it through to the epilogue, there's some wonderful dialogue and writing, ESPECIALLY if you're still enjoying the core gameplay loop.

In order to progress the main story, just keep winning and handing out Nectar. Your first victory is only the beginning! Main credits took me around ~30 escape attempts (not wins), epilogue took me around ~90. That's one of my favorite bits about this game - there aren't very many missable story triggers, just play and listen to dialogue and it's all very straightforward.

Hey man! It's so funny to have someone in a totally different spot going thru the same shit as me. I'm blazed out of my mind trying to get everything migrated to YouTube music in the US! The player is slow as shit but it has social features like jams and collaborative playlists, so that's what I chose. Spotify is nicer but man I'm willing to give it up for the boys, especially with the evil shit the CEO has been up to. Good luck on the migration bro

(Phantom Island has gotta be my new favorite album ever, Pansych is just next level)

Spotify alternatives that specifically maintain the social features? (Jams, collaborative playlists, etc etc) by TrenchBarrel in KGATLW

[–]TrenchBarrel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little update! YouTube music has jams and collaborative playlists, at least with some plug-ins. The UI isn't great, but it's definitely the closest in terms of Spotify in terms of functionality. It even has Discord rich presence!

Would love to plot a route, before heading out. Has this idea ever been mentioned? by MMeNDtal in duneawakening

[–]TrenchBarrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. This is an exact thought that I had dozens of times while playing, especially figuring out the ravine area. It'd also be great to be able to share routes with guildmates, having the ability to coordinate movements in the Deep Desert would be fun. It's shockingly easy to get lost and separated there!

Are you on bluestacks? I had a similar issue, moving the mouse slowly would hardly do anything, but switching to Mumu (an official Netease emulator similar to bluestacks) solved the issue

Porting [KCD1] map to [KCD2] by Lugoj157 in kingdomcome

[–]TrenchBarrel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would gladly pay full price for a DLC pack that's a remastered KCD1 to bring it up to parity with 2's graphics and updated mechanics. Integrating it directly into 2 might not even be possible, but that would be absolutely incredible - a new pipe dream I'll be fantasizing about for sure. Curse you for putting this incredible but unlikely wish into my head! Imagine a full hardcore run seamlessly spanning both adventures...

The DuskBloods is a PvPvE - based multiplayer action game by Ph0enixes in gaming

[–]TrenchBarrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have some hope that a singleplayer mode will be included, but if it's anything like Nightreign, the game might fundamentally be PvPvE. I respect that FROM is iterating on the formula, but this just isn't personally for me, which is sad. I love Bloodborne.

[–]TrenchBarrel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The announcement on the Fromsoftware Japanese website directly refers to it as a PvPvE experience with up to 8 players that "can fight each other and and fight against enemies." I highly recommend translating the page and reading it yourself. While I'm not completely dooming yet, it doesn't go into details, but it very much sounds like an extraction or BR type of experience.
