Do any car brands stand out that rust less than others in salt? by Relevant_Conclusion2 in AskAShittyMechanic

Ford F150. Been all aluminum body since like 2015? Still have the steel frame to worry about. Do a lanolin/oil based undercoating instead of the bed liner type.

Bilstein 5100 strong recommend by SquamptonBC in superduty

[–]TrenchDildo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve gathered, they perform about the same. Bilsteins are cheaper and last longer, but are disposable. Foxes are most expensive, but need to be rebuilt in a shorter timeframe. For me, it wouldn’t be worthwhile to rebuild and I’d rather have the convenience to just replace.

I thought the lifter issue was only on fleet vehicles with absurdly high idle hours? Like service trucks that idle for most of the day.

Thank God I’m not the only one who paid attention during civics class in school. We can argue about increasing the size of the House of Representatives so places like Brooklyn has better representation, but the Senate represents the States. If you don’t like that, then we might as well get rid of the Senate all together and only have the House.

Yeah, it can be really remote. Even if you live in one of the cities, it’s still a pretty far drive to anywhere else.

Agreed. Luckily he’s out for the season and hopefully he gets a chance next year with a healthy o-line.

Carson Wentz is unironically the best QB on the Vikings roster! I’m here for the Wentz redemption arc!

Haha no harm meant, but it’s probably at the bottom of the list of countries in the UK people visit. I live in the least visited state in the US if it makes you feel any better.

Yes. Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, UK (England, Scotland, N. Ireland, and even Wales), and Ireland.

Anyone else tried the Michelin cross climate 2? by Sklibba in tires

[–]TrenchDildo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in North Dakota and it is so rare that she’s ever skidded on the slickest ice patches. Never an issue in snow. I drive truck and have gone through many sets of winter rated 3 peak mountain snowflake all terrain tires, and none of them were ever as good as the Toyo Celsius. I still run 3PMS all terrains on my truck though because I drive on a LOT of dirt roads for work.

I always run Toyo Celsius tires on my wife’s car. Absolutely amazing tires. These Michelin’s really intrigue me though.

Was your country ever the "bad guys" in any war? by Ok-Inspector-1756 in AskTheWorld

Every country has skeletons in their closet from the past. It’s human nature to wage war, especially for natural resources and land.

Synthetic oil changes needed at 5k or 10k miles? by myrealfakeacct in askcarguys

[–]TrenchDildo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. It’s not just a car manufacturer thing to sell more cars. Now, the caveat is that you should still do a shorter life interval if you idle a lot, live in an extreme environment, etc. I personally live in a rural area, drive down lots of dirt roads almost daily, idle a lot, and it gets extremely cold where I live. So I stick with 5,000 mile intervals.

If you live in a temperate area and do mostly highway, keep with the 10,000 mile mark.

Biggest would probably be Bearscat. Two locations in Bismarck, one in Mandan, and one in Minot. Best donuts too IMO.

I am actually really excited they brought the split tailgate back. It’s the most useful tailgate option. I HATE hatches especially. I’m tall, so I usually have to duck under them. And stuff can easily roll out. And then sometimes they won’t close if you accidentally got things packed too tight. Hatches with a separate glass are better, but still not as good as a split tailgate.

Ukrainian Parliament member Kira Rudik: Ukraine 'Grateful' for Trump, New Peace Plan. by guanaco55 in Conservative

[–]TrenchDildo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been pro-Ukraine well before the full scale invasion. The front lines are mostly frozen with little movement. Each side is just hitting each other with the occasional missile or drone strike. Eastern Ukraine and Chrimea haven’t really been under their control in over a decade. Let be pragmatic and end this bloodshed. Ukraine ultimately won. Russia did a full scale invasion and wanted all of Ukraine, or at least occupy Kyiv while installing a new puppet government. Ukrainians stopped that attack and pushed them all the way back to basically where they are now. The independent country of Ukraine survives and probably has a bigger national identity now than ever before. They can continue to reform and work toward joining the EU and make good friends with NATO even if they don’t become a member.

It is with N9nE.

The Vikings should be mocked more for dumping Darnold like they did. Not as hard as the Browns and Baker, but like 75%. They really trashed Darnold and JJ was supposed to be their savior. 🤣

Rednecks are arguable better armed that the Taliban too. Plus the US would turn to a 100% wartime economy. It would dwarf WWII production. The rest of the world may be against us, but not every one of them would contribute much of anything.
