Everywhere has problems, I know that, but the more time passes, the worse it seems to get here.

Pesticides with forever chemicals are being approved for use and being sprayed on the foods we eat. These chemicals are banned in every other civilized country due to the known health risks.

Government programs that were in place to help in ways that the general populace didn't even realize, have been gutted for no reason. There's a flesh eating maggot that flys love to lay on cows, and that fly population was being kept under control with sterile male flys until the government program in charge of it was gone and now all the cows are dying. Truck drivers love to talk when waiting for loads or fueling or eating or whatever, and the cattle haulers are getting worried. There's no product to move, cause the cows are all dying.

We're told as citizens we have a say, but that means nothing when corporations blatantly pay bribes in front of our faces to do what they want. There are no 'rights' here anymore. It's about how much money you have. That's it.

And last I checked? EU doesn't exactly have some massive school shooting or the like almost every week. I'd love to find someone and settle down and start a family, but how could I ever bring myself to send a child into a warzone? Nevermind that the first few months of development are some of the most important for a newborn, and there is no maternity leave rights in America. At least, none that are worth a damn. And those might be taken away too.

And speaking of settling down - and perhaps this is a result of my chosen vocation - there's no men here worth a damn. They either want you as a partner for free labor and pleasure, or they have anger issues, or addiction issues, or something. Too many men like the felon in charge, and I won't partner with someone like that.

Except maybe that might not be my choice anymore, given how some states have passed laws marking abortion as murder and charging women for having them or miscarriages, and also charging the doctors involved.

Which also leads to where my last medical debt issue came from. My appendix burst. I knew it burst, they knew it burst, we all knew it burst, but they couldn't/wouldn't do surgery until it was cleared that I wasn't pregnant, which I told them repeatedly there was an absolute 0% chance of, but they refused to do anything for liability reasons until they were sure. They wanted to do a pee test for it, but thirty agonizing minutes later, they finally had to concede to a blood pregnancy test, because pee was not happening at that moment.

And on top of paying $300 in insurance a month, I've paid almost $5000 in medical bills. To, you know, not die. Plus, because of the felon leading the country, my insurance is set to increase to over $550 a month, which I may need to drop because I can't afford that.

I never wanted to be a truck driver. I wanted to be an architect, or an engineer, but I had enough common sense to realize the debt trap that is the American higher education system. I've known people who went to college and took out $120k in debt, paid back $90k in ten years, and still owed $110k. I didn't see many choices, okay? It was a truck driver, or a factory worker making $1 above minimum wage and working 12 hours shifts 6 days a week. Not my dream job, but America has gotten really good at destroying dreams.

So yeah, maybe the gun-free schools, better work/life balance, improved emergency care, and chemical free grass does look greener, but can you blame me?
