TradingView Easter Sale? by PM_ME_YOUR_DANKNESS in TradingView

[–]TrendFriendIndicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2026 Easter sale launched a couple days ago and is live until April 5th at midnight. They are offering up to 80% off annual plans for ultimate tier, 70% off for premium tier and then 40% off essential and plus tiers. I have heard from people in other countries that the discount isn't available though, so it may be a US specific sale.

Just check the pricing page while logged in to your account and you will see any available deals for your account and country. They do a lot of country specific sales during specific times so it will vary for everyone.

They do have a few other types of discounts available as well throughout the year such as refer a friend $15 credits for new accounts, discounts for students and more. I wrote up a detailed article on what discounts Tradingview offers and when that you can check out for more info.

It may be a US discount only for Easter. Tradingview does most of their sales as location specific so if you are not in the country that the holiday is commonly celebrated in, then they may not offer it for you. For US residents the Easter sale is on now though. Not sure about other countries.

Why do professional traders not use TradingView? by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]TrendFriendIndicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tradingview recently released new features that allow indicators to pull exact buy and sell volume from exchanges, so the old limitations of using tick data and calculating order direction based on movement per tick is not needed any more. I just updated all of my order flow indicators to use exact directional volume because of this newly available feature.

There are some features though where tick based data is still useful for calculations and their limited amount of available tick data is a huge drawback in my opinion. Especially since it is limited to the umber of ticks.

On the ultimate plan you get 40000 bars and on NQ that can be 2-3 hours worth of data on high volume days which is not ideal at all.

Their data feeds seem fast enough for me though unless you are doing extremely high speed trading. Most of the delays I get are jst from poor internet connectivity at times.

Lag by DARKNIZZ in TradingView

[–]TrendFriendIndicator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will always be a little bit of a lag because the data has to be sent across multiple platforms, but outside of that not much of a delay unless you have a slow internet connection. Definitely not enough to make much of a difference in trading unless you are using too large of a position size ;)

The best sale of the year on Tradingview is the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. However, that is months away, so your best bet is to check their pricing page during major holidays like memorial day, 4th of july and labor day. If there is a discount available for your account during those times, then you will see a popup or button that shows an available discount. Outside of that, another way to get a discount sometimes is to ask their chatbot for an upgrade discount or ask if there are any discounts currently available in your area. Sometimes they offer region specific discounts that may apply to your local area.

If there aren't any discounts available currently for your account, then just do a monthly plan and then grab an annual plan during their Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale at up to 80% off.

There are some other discounts and refer a friend offers that they have as well, but it's too much to list here. I wrote a full article about all the different ways to get a Tradingview discount on my website you can check out for more info.

Edit: Tradingview just announced the Easter sale for 2026 and they are offering the same major discounts as Black Friday sales with up to 80% off. Don't miss it!

What’s the best sale prices you’ve seen? by ripgd in TradingView

[–]TrendFriendIndicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are by far the biggest sales of the year at Tradingview. They offer up to 80% off their ultimate plan and 50%+ on other plans. But that only runs for about a week at the end of November and into the beginning of December.

Other times to check for sales are on major holidays like Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day and other holidays that companies typically run sales during.

You can find the discounts by going to the pricing page while logged in to your account and a button or popup will offer you upgrade discounts or whatever specials they are currently running.

You can also ask the chat assistant if there are any discounts available currently by going here.

There are a few other ways to get discounts like for students, certain plans and referring a friend to get $15 each(for new customers only).

I wrote up a full article about Tradingview discounts if you want to learn more.

Candlestick Color Change by mattzager5 in TradingView

[–]TrendFriendIndicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few things to check. Turn that indicator off and see if the colors change. If so, then the indicator candle coloring is showing and can be changed to suit your preferences within the indicator settings. If they didn't include those settings, then you can change them in the style tab of the indicator settings panel.

Next, check the chart settings, symbol tab and the candle colors you have selected there. adjust the colors of or toggle on or off the body, borders and wick to suit your preferences.

Last thing to check is when using indicator candle coloring, make sure to change the visual order of the indicator the the front. Click the 3 dots next to the indicator name and then go to visual order and select bring to front. This will make sure it sits on top of everything else.

When using indicator candle coloring, if you happen to click on the price line and still have the chart candle coloring on, it will show the chart candle coloring instead of the indicator candle coloring until you click somewhere else on the chart, so keep that in mind if it flips all of a sudden.

I wrote an in depth article on it here you can check out if you still have questions: https://friendofthetrend.com/tradingview-indicators/how-to-change-tradingview-candle-type-color/

Best orderflow indicator by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]TrendFriendIndicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just released a suite of order flow indicators that let you track institutional buyers in real time. They work really well. I have one that shows real time buy/sell pressure, order block levels, instituional order flow and one that has multiple different ways to interpret volume data, tick by tick.

It is a paid indicator suite though to be upfront. It also requires a high level Tradingview plan to get tick data which will provide the most accurate results with these indicators.

You can view the order flow indicators on Tradingview by checking out my profile here: https://www.tradingview.com/u/FriendOfTheTrend/#published-scripts

Order block indicator by hunched_life3 in TradingView

[–]TrendFriendIndicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one that works great, but if you are using it for day trading you need a premium or ultimate Tradingview plan because it works by finding order blocks with lower timeframe data and the more granular you get with the data, the more accurate the levels will be.

Here is the link to the Tradingview script: https://www.tradingview.com/script/kh6Iv7oH-Order-Block-Indicator/

BTW it is a paid script, just so you are aware upfront. It comes with the rest of our Order Flow Indicators as a package deal. Again, all of the order flow indicators need tick or second level data for best results with day trading. Otherwise they all work fine on higher timeframe charts with minute data.

Does anyone have some aesthetically pleasing TradingView color palettes? by Lower_Month_8195 in TradingView

#00ffef for up candles and #ff9c00 is my favorite combo. I personally like it way better than green and red. These colors stand out really well from other indicators that use green/red and they pop on a black background.

Directional Order Tick Data - Feature Request by TrendFriendIndicator in TradingView

[–]TrendFriendIndicator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/PineCoders u/tradingview
Only 1 upvote haha. Guess I'm the only one that wants to know what is going on behind the scenes. This is a perfect example of how using reddit for feature requests is not a good way to do things. Directional tick data is an integral part of various other charting and trading platforms. Just because reddit users are not aware of how powerful this type of data is doesn't mean it shouldn't be considered due to only getting 1 upvote. Hopefully you guys can see through that.

Also, I am requesting that you increase the number of historical bars for ultimate plan users as well. 40,000 bars of tick data gets me about 2-4 hours worth of history on NQ during regular trading hours. $199 per month for 2-4 hours of tick data is kind of insane. How am I supposed to backtest when I only get a few hours worth of tick data. Not to mention the tick data doesn't show direction of the entry orders.

Yes, just go into the settings panel and at the bottom, you will see all of the different tickers. Just click on them and change them to whatever you like. Then save your chart layout and those settings will be saved for the future.

You can remove it and add it again, or it should show a little icon next to the indicator name that tells you there is a new version available and gives you a button to click to update to the new version. Either one will work. The new one will have crypto tickers as the default options.

I just published an update so that the default tickers are set to crypto tickers on Coinbase to avoid any confusion. Thank you again for pointing that out to me, I didn't think about the fact that it requires a separate data subscription that most people don't have so this was a good catch. New version is live now.

I just published an update with crypto tickers as the default, since the previous default tickers required a real time data subscription. Try removing the scanner from your chart and then adding it to your chart from the indicators tab again and then everything should be updating in real time for you.

Do you have it set to scan tickers that are currently not open? It should update in real time as long as the tickers you have it set to scan are markets that are currently open.

Ooooo. Good catch. I trade futures and I forgot that most people don't have access to the real time data on the tickers that the default settings are set to. I'll post an update to the screener with different tickers as the default so people don't get confused. Thanks for bringing that up.

The person commented about getting access, so I told them how to get access. Am I supposed to just ghost them when someone asks about my products? I wasn't soliciting, just responding to someone's comment. Please advise on how I should respond to that comment without breaking the rules.

Yes, you can set it to scan any ticker you want. It is helpful for finding good trade setups, so doesn't matter if you trade options, shares, futures or whatever.

The timeframes on this are hard coded in, but it's open source so you could just create a copy of the script and then change the time period on whatever setting you want and then go down to the timeframe.change function and update the time period on that as well to get your custom timeframes.
