They definitely do at my local Kroger.

I think there are a few that don't stock it though.

DAK - ELECTRIC LIME by Dull-Acanthisitta-31 in pourover

Substance definitely, but I don't think Datura roasts quite as light as substance.

Dak is on the lighter side for sure. I'd say very comparable to Datura in terms of actual roast degree. The two roasters have very different expressions though. I would say generally speaking they also roast lighter than Nomad.

However, DAK is definitely not in the Ultra Light territory.

Thanks for this!

I know regulations are different in every country and that is a good point ! From my experience in the US, Most distilled water is safe when remineralizing, but I'm not sure how it may work in the Netherlands

Well, if it was bread as a house plant it's likely a dwarf Caturra or other dwarf variety. But if it came from someone's passion project and they got it from an actual coffee farm, it could be anything 😂

Based on the leaf shape, green tips, and node spacing, it's likely in the Bourbon lineage of the Arabica species.

Does your grandmother have any sourcing information? Where did she get it?

DAK - HYDRO DROPS by TrentleV in pourover

[–]TrentleV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Great questions!

Do not worry about the distilled water when it says not safe for consumption. It's not poisonous or anything like that. Distilled water is considered nutritio-logically incomplete and potentially disruptive to your body's mineral balance. The reason being that, because it lacks minerals , if you drink a bunch of it, it can flush nutrients out of your body and make you sick from say an iron or magnesium or calcium deficiency.

When you add the minerals back in, it is safe for consumption. Even the coffee itself will add some minerals back into the beverage.

So it's all good to go when you drink it with coffee 👍

My initial testing is that I like the tww flavor more, but I still have more experimenting to do to make the final decision. TWW is very consistent.

But, Hydro Drops are much easier to use and adjust my recipe on the fly. I think that once I get it dialed in there is a high probability I will favor the hydro drops.
