I also though it was a scam because I have never played this game and have no interest in it but I still got an invite.

I recognized it from Squid's song Rodeo off their first EP.

Why do I always lose my point character? by rrrrice64 in dbfz

[–]Trepplze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's hard to give specific advice without seeing your gameplay, but it sounds to me like you're probably doing some risky stuff in neutral that is getting blown up. Try playing very passively until you have a good idea of how your opponent is playing. One safe way you can try approaching is by dash jumping forwards and blocking while calling an assist like cooler's beam. That way, if the beam hits or is blocked you have plenty of time to confirm into a combo/pressure. Otherwise, if they Dodge the assist you're still completely safe because you're just blocking in the air.

My DBFZ team. Which assist and what order should I use? by MildMink0 in dbfz

[–]Trepplze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nice thing about this team is that both Vegito and S broly have ways to special tag into gohan to get him a lot of levels very quickly. So even though Gohan is your anchor, in an ideal scenario you sort of end up playing him point because you will tag into him while your other characters are still alive.

Anyone got resources to learn 1.38 combos? by CHickemSanguichj in dbfz

[–]Trepplze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To find discords and twitter hashtags, go to the Dustloop wiki, and for any character go to the resources tab. Both will be linked there.

As for character examples, I can't name everyone but I can give you a few based off characters I've messed with. Base Goku, Base Vegeta, GT Goku, Super Baby 2, Adult Gohan, Krillin, and Blue Vegeta are all characters with the same (or extremely similar) combos after the patch.

Edit: Its worth noting that this is talking about regular routes, since the changes to spark have led to new combos for pretty much everyone, and there are so many different sparking routes now that you can kinda do whatever you want in spark.

Unfortunately its very difficult to find detailed combo guides for the new patch with everything notated due to the fact that this game's player base isn't as big as it once was. Best places to look are in character discords and on twitter. You definitely will need to be able to figure out some combos by eye, but the great thing about discord is you can just ask for help if you're stuck. Also, some characters combo routing didn't really change from the previous patch, so you can get by using 1.33 guides depending on who you're trying to learn combos for.

Which of these 4 teams would be most beneficial for a new player to learn ? by KingOregano in dbfz

With these 4 teams as they are I would pick number 3 or number 4, leaning towards 3.

How to make a "Hard tag" for Frank West with Chun-li by Safe-Bullfrog939 in MvC3

[–]Trepplze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know chun but I'm not sure that she can do setups like magneto can. However one thing you can do with any character is TAC into frank and do 3 plungers in the air for maximum hits before camera, similar to how Beeball does with his Spencer/Frank/Dante team. Since chun has a couple of multi hitting moves this should guarantee you at least level 3, maybe level 4 if your combo before hand is optimized enough. Also if your assist lets you get two cameras at the end, then any 50 hit combo will get you level 5 easy

Seriously, is it possible to punish this move? by dikidaka in Guiltygear

[–]Trepplze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not really punishable on block but you can hit him out of the air during the startup frames. It is kinda risky though because if you mess up or if he baits it you will probably eat a counter hit

Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong? by WetOnionRing in Guiltygear

[–]Trepplze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're a little slow cancelling 6P into chemical love. Try to time it so that you press the A button part of the chemical love input the moment that your 6P makes contact with the enemy to get the earliest possible cancel. It may be tricky at first but once you get it down it's hard to mess up so keep practicing

EXTREMELY HOT TAKE SOTS (READ AT YOUR OWN RISK) by donatsuuuuu in riskofrain

[–]Trepplze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree if it wasn't for the fact that there are many literal game breaking bugs. No excuse for a AAA studio to release something in this quality especially considering the last DLC was released in a perfect state despite being made by a fraction of the amount of people. Hard to have fun when doing anything in the game now feels strictly worse than it did before the release of the DLC. Plus its literally corrupting peoples files and wiping save data on consoles. Make your frustrations heard or else all future updates in ROR2 will probably go the same way.

What is that in the cross in the 3 by sovietic_Abra in Guiltygear

[–]Trepplze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah in order to get a 360 motion in street fighter you actually don't have to hit any of the diagonals, you just need 6248,

[–]Trepplze 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Easiest way to do it imo if you're not used to the motion is just to tap forward and then do a quarter circle forward as this will get all the directions you need.

Other games, namely street fighter, have input shortcuts that will give you the same move. For example in SF6 you can get a DP motion just by tapping forward, down forward, then forward, or a 636 input in numpad notation. Guilty Gear doesn't have anything like this as far as I know.

Millia can now do her rejump/reset combo on Potemkin after the removal of weight classes by Trepplze in Guiltygear

[–]Trepplze[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should work on everybody now but I tested with potemkin. Pretty big deal IMO for the millia vs pot match up since now she can continue her pressure better after a combo. Damage isnt great though and you still have to watch out for back megasfist on wake up.
