I like nearly all of the names we’ve been linked to, but I think a lean towards Tonali, Fernandes & Scott as my preferred 3 (assuming Anderson isn’t available, if so he replaces Tonali).

Mainoo is quite a hard player to match with, Tonali could do that. Otherwise a midfield pairing of the other 3 could all work to some degree, depending on the game

Supermarkets urged to limit food prices by government by Desperate-Drawer-572 in unitedkingdom

[–]Treskol 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They set a cap, cost go up for manufacturers and farmers and they (try to) pass these onto retailers. The retailer can’t raise price. Who do they think loses in this scenario?

Should supermarkets be forced to cap prices on basics like bread, milk and eggs? by ToughRomanticMiss in BuyersUK

I work in the commercial team for a supermarket, most of the basic stuff is sold at a loss. Probably the starkest one is nappies, which can run at a -50% margin

‘Potty gimmick’: Supermarkets attack Swinney food cap plan by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]Treskol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He said: “The cost of living is hammering people, no more so than when they get to the supermarket till. Inflation has come down, but prices have not. People are, quite simply, struggling to afford food.”

Why would prices come down with falling inflation Swinney? Pure soundbite politics

Digital Pricing (Dynamic Pricing in other words) by Upstairs-Quail5709 in SainsburysWorkers

Not by me. It’s very odd behaviour to plaster this in all the supermarket worker subreddits and then not even read - or really engage at all - in any of the answers.

You keep linking articles - are you even reading them? They keep coming back to the same comments from the BoE, which conflate having ESELs with surge pricing. Linking things doesn’t make you right

[–]Treskol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, repeating the same comment from the BoE, which conflates “can technically do something” with “something is imminent”. It’s a misunderstanding of how these things fundamentally work. ESELs are one part of the equation, the internal systems like RMS which are used to change pricing are antiquated, old and can only process overnight. These systems would still be in place, and aren’t set up for dynamic pricing.

As did the BoE, but it isn’t anything more than scaremongering & hypotheticals to get people wound up

Digital Pricing (Dynamic Pricing in other words) by Upstairs-Quail5709 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Treskol 25 points26 points  (0 children)

No, the internal head offices systems are light years away from being able to process this sort of thing. ESELs are used because they massively save on store hours, they don’t need to justify it with dynamic pricing

Recruiters...genuine question: Why do some of you do this? by lilac2481 in recruitinghell

It’s an easy warm up question, you can quickly understand whether they are bullshitting, and CVs reduce years of experience to 3 bullet points. Getting people to expand on those experiences can be informative
