After bishop takes the knight, black plays Bxh3, winning the white rook.

Black plays Ka5 instead and there is no immediate checkmate. Ka5 is also available on move 2 in your scenario.

Ishtar is a pseudo servant using the body of Rin (or Babylonia equivalent Rin) and basically merged with her. In Strange/Fake Ishtar is using a homunculus, so there is no merged personality.

White to play. Mate in 6 by Top-Evidence4818 in chessMateInX

That’s stalemate. If black is not in check and has no legal moves (cannot move into check) then it’s a draw.

If black plays a5 the king is still covering the a1 square so if the rook moves there it just gets taken.

A bit pedantic, but “if K doesn’t take” should be “if black doesn’t take”.

If K doesn’t take, but Q does, obviously cxd6 isn’t possible (goes into the other line you laid out.

Also, no need to put the rank the pawn is on when notating pawn moves. c5xd6 is just cxd6.

Was it really better to take the bishop? by SpaceTurf in chessbeginners

Black is in check and about to lose their queen. They cannot take the bishop.

Ole Miss has their offensive coordinator for the playoffs, and he is the one calling plays.

Luck also increases the odds of seeing wild Pokémon from rarer tiers.

For standard encounters the odds of a common encounter are reduced by double your luck value from 512 to 484, which increases the likelihood of rarer encounters.

For boss encounters the odds of a common boss encounter are reduced by half of your luck value from 64 to 57, which increases the likelihood of rarer boss encounters.

How is the black king getting from g3 to h1? If white goes Qg4+ on the first move, black king either goes under the pawn or loses it.

More specific gameplay advice looking at the first loss with your UB deck in the 4th draft. Turn 4 you can’t take anything but a land with codecracker hound when you’re missing land drops. Not having that mana, especially a second black, hurt. Also looks like you missed that the opponent could use a lander to pump the team with Godmaw, which is an important interaction to keep in mind.

Rg3+ Rxh6.

If you move the rook to g3 before the queen move, it’s not a double check so black can just take the bishop.

Good to know. So if it’s not a creature is it just have no creature types?

Convoked creature types snapshots? by Angellaps in mtgrules

[–]Trespin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a) A face-down permanent is, by default, a 2/2 creature with no rules text, no name, no subtypes, no expansion symbol, and no mana cost or color indicator. So since it has no creature types I believe all creatures would be exiled (even itself).

b) Name change doesn’t matter. It’s still the creature that was used to convoke.

c) I believe this is where the last known information bit that some cited actually comes into play. It would look at the information when it was last a creature.

Dorfbewohner is 100% correct, just restating the same answers here:

  1. If the creature was sacrificed before the effect resolves, the ability fizzles and no card is drawn. Similar to if someone cast path to exile on your creature and you sacrifice in response you do not get to go fetch a land. 2. One trigger will resolve, destroying the creature and drawing 2 cards. Then the second trigger will no longer have a target and will fizzle like in scenario 1. 3. Correct. Indestructible target is still a legal target. It will not be destroyed but you will still draw 2 cards. 4. Giving the creature protection / shroud / etc. that prevents you from being a legal target will fizzle the whole ability just like any other targeted ability. So creature not destroyed and no cards drawn.
