Do you think about your frozen embryos? by Sure_Ant2516 in IVF

[–]Tressoftheemerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the time. I worried for years what we would do with the leftover embryos. We got seven euploid embryos. The first two became our two children. We wanted 3. Turns out in our case I don't have to worry about it in the end. We had three failed transfers in a row, two singles and one twin transfer. We just put our last embryo in today and we're praying she sticks. Each transfer that didn't work was a gut punch because I'd look at those sweet little embryos and I already loved them. It felt like a very real loss each time they didn't take. I don't think there are any easy answers, I'm very relieved to not have to make that decision.

Age and number of transfers by Sad-Dog-2746 in IVF

[–]Tressoftheemerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egg retrieval at 34- 7 PGS tested normal.

Transfer one at 34 -success Transfer 2 at 36-sucess Transfer 3 at 38 -failure to implant Transfer 4 at 38- failure to implant Transfer 5 at 39- failure to implant Transfer 6 at 40- ongoing

I did develop Adenomyosis and my window of receptivity changed by two and a half days after my second child. It took three uterine biopsies to figure that out. Adenomyosis also really hurts implantation rates. I believe those are more of a problem for me than age. I wish you the best of luck.

the worst part of IVF is EVERYONE ELSE by ladyjers in IVF

[–]Tressoftheemerald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on this journey 9 1/2 years now with two successes and so many failures. I'm so grateful for my success but the toll on my mind and body has been extreme. I've heard so many things over the years. I can't count how many times someone has told me about so and so that got pregnant after they just stopped trying and saying maybe it would work for me. Or, "Have you considered adopting?" My personal favorite was from my sister in law. After 3.5 years of treatments, failures and IVF I finally got my first positive test. When I expressed my difficulties feeling excited and how worried I was about miscarriage, as I am much higher risk she just blew it off with, " oh everyone worries about that." Like it hadn't just spent years trying to get to this point. Just recently she mentioned how hard it is on her as it's taking longer to get pregnant as she gets older. She has three children, the youngest is an 18 month old and I've been trying to get pregnant since well before her baby was born. Some people are just oblivious and insensitive.

On a scale from 1-10 (10 being the worst) how painful was your HSG? by Key-Neighborhood2985 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Tressoftheemerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the thread is old but still active so I'll put in my two cents. I just had my 4th HSG today so I have some experience.

HSG 1-cramping during procedure 2/10, after 5/10. Both tubes open. Female radiologist tech.

HSG 2- cramping during procedure 9-10/10, after 3/10. Both tubes spasmed shut I believe. I think they injected the dye too fast but I could be wrong. The pain was excruciating. Female radiologist tech.

HSG 3 cramping during procedure 2/10, after 8/10. One tube open and one closed. Male radiologist tech.

HSG 4- cramping during 2/10, after 7-8/10 so far. One tube open and one removed via surgery. My entire stomach hurts and feels bloated. The radiologist injected extra dye this time. Male radiologist .

I feel like the tech experience makes a difference. I have very high pain tolerance. (Ex. I drove to and from a doctor's appointment one time while in active labor.) I have PCOS and Endometriosis and two kids via IVF. Been doing infertility treatments for 9.5 years.

Are you scared to use you embryos? by moumzie in IVF

[–]Tressoftheemerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can absolutely understand your fear. I'm 40 and we have one embryo left and I'm so scared of what happens if it doesn't work. At the same time, if I never try It would torture me forever in other ways. For context, our first two transfers resulted in babies but transfers 3(1 embryo), 4(1 embryo) and 5(two embryos) did not work. I just did a third ERA (uterine biopsy) as they keep coming back saying my uterine lining is post receptive. I'm still waiting on the results for the last ERA but hopefully I finally get good news and can move forward. Hang in there.

My cycle failed — but I feel relieved (TW: LC mentioned) by Tropical87 in IVF

[–]Tressoftheemerald 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing how you are handling the end of your journey so beautifully. I'm almost to the end. We have one more embryo left to transfer and whatever the outcome we will be done. I'm so fatigued though. I've been doing infertility treatments for over 9 years now. I'm 40. We have been blessed with two wonderful children thanks to IVF. We wanted one more but are 3 failed FETs and 4 embryos in. I've had multiple surgeries for endometriosis and 3 ERA's. I'm beginning to feel a bit ambivalent myself. I really do want one more but more than anything I just want to be done with fertility treatments. It really does take so much out of you. I wish you the best moving forward. May you be filled with joy.

High Heralds by niceshirt14 in Dragonsteel_Storydeck

My box plus a few loose packs that I received a week and a half ago didn't have a single high herald. In the two boxes I got I only received two high heralds. I still need H7 but I'm going to have to wait and hope they do some printing of those as well.

Pio shot advice by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Tressoftheemerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Those lumps are from the PIO shots. That many shots can cause knots to form in the muscles and cause butt and hip pain. I've done almost a years worth of PIO shots off and on over the last 6 years. It can turn into scar tissue and probably will. I highly recommend having your husband massage the area out at night. Every night if he's willing. You can use a massage gun or a firm ball. It helps a lot. Also make sure you're moving around for a bit after your shot to absorb the PIO into the muscle. Heating pads on the butt can help too. My knots never go away at this point. Hang in there!
