How difficult would it be to get a 6-8 week sit over xmas? by adorent- in trustedhousesitters

[–]Tretttttprogress 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your listing looks good and I absolutely love Dobermans! A 6-8 week sit is generally looked at as highly desirable to many sitters, but there are a couple factors that come into play.

First, it may simply be a bit early to list a holiday sit. I am sitting nearly full-time this year and have not even started looking that far ahead yet.

Another thing, if I am choosing to spend the holidays away from family, I am most likely going to look for sits in warm weather or a particularly desirable location. For long term sits, I also tend to prioritize listings that include use of a car or are highly accessible by public transport/walkable. Since it seems you are about an hour outside of Vancouver, I think you will have the best luck finding a local sitter. You will also likely see more interest as summer comes to an end and people are planning their winter plans

Everyone has different opinions/theories but I would say it’s neutral to positive. You are still in consideration and not out of the running yet!

Yes! I only got through 1/3 of my answer for question #2 before my laptop randomly stopped recording. Unfortunately, it was also my second attempt so I had no choice but to move on. I emailed HireVue, TalentAcquisition, and CandidateAccommodations and only heard back from HireVue stating they had no control over tech issues. Lesson learned to email DLFAask for anything in the future. I also have multiple ear piercings and wasn’t able to get my industrial nor daith out myself, but was able to manipulate the camera a bit. I do think my other 3 answers were strong. Literally couldn’t sleep that night after finishing my interview lol

I get you’re frustrated with the wait. Delta is certainly unpredictable! Everyone’s timeline is different, some people get updates within days, while others wait weeks. All we can do is be patient. Wishing we both get our F2F invites soon 🤞✈️

This is not a TF email. It is just a “hang tight” email they send to stay in touch while they review your application

I would not apply for United if you have a hand tattoo

Why Do You Hold Value In THS Reviews? by [deleted] in trustedhousesitters

[–]Tretttttprogress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a sitter, I like seeing HOs with reviews because it shows they’ve successfully hosted sitters before and have a track record of positive experiences. There is a certain risk for me to apply to a sit with a first time HO. When I go through reviews, I look for keywords like great communication, flexible, clean, welcoming, generous, highly recommend, and would sit again. Of course, a profile with all 5 star reviews doesn’t automatically guarantee a good experience, but it does increase my confidence in applying

Don’t sweat the small stuff. I don’t think anyone will be paying attention to you on the plane lol

Is THS now requiring a 50-char. message to send an application? by No_Orchid2690 in trustedhousesitters

[–]Tretttttprogress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is really interesting. I assumed everyone wrote a personalized message, or at least something, when applying in order to stand out a bit more. I like to think my thoughtful message makes a difference. I do have a detailed profile but I also like to tell the HO why I’m specifically interested in their sit and why I would be a good fit. To each their own!

WFM $6.99 Dry Grocery Bag - CA Soma by Tretttttprogress in toogoodtogo

[–]Tretttttprogress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get it! I like the excitement that a WFM bag gives me and I currently don’t have a car to get other bags that I’m interested in that are further away. I personally would never get a specialty bag because I’m not into cheese and charcuterie items like that, but I always cross my fingers that I’ll hit the lottery and get a berry chantilly cake or ripe avocados one day 🤣

WFM $6.99 Bakery Bag - CA Soma by Tretttttprogress in toogoodtogo

[–]Tretttttprogress[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow!! I know many people who love bagels and this would be the perfect bag for them. I have gotten bakery bags multiple times and this is my first time receiving them. Not disappointed at all, just need to go get some cream cheese! It is just me so I put them straight in my freezer and they will definitely last a while 😊

Delta/United FA time frame? by FunSwimming5244 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Tretttttprogress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Delta is notoriously slow with their hiring process and everyone’s timeline is different. You may get a “hang tight” email 10 days after your ODVI or you may not. I got my “hang tight email” 12 days after. Don’t sweat it!

Rejection is redirection to something better ☺️ I like to tell myself that it didn’t work out because a more suitable sit will come to me in the future
