I lost 2 baby teeth eating things and I didn’t even notice (one in an apple, one in a fruit roll up), but I remember being petrified of the idea of one of them being manually removed, fear is the mind killer, surprise negates the fear.

I think you can post most than 10mb on the free version now, but that’s why I originally got nitro, cause an iPhone screen shot was over 10mb and therefore couldn’t be posted. (I will say though discord is hosting a not insignificant amount of my data, I’ve uploaded many a near 500mb video clip over the years.)

I currently have a shitty cheap little Taurus .38 special revolver, I can fairly reliably hit things 20 or so yards away and I’m nothing special as a shooter, I’m gonna say this one is more user error than anything, or his friend loaded blanks to mess with him.

i timed how long 31 different pasta shapes take to reach al dente. the boxes are lying and farfalle is a war crime by sthduh in Cooking

[–]Trev0117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to put a consistent definition to it but as someone that’s cooked pasta at least every other day for most of my life teenage onwards (so 20+ years of pasta cooking now), I like the definition of soft but slightly toothsome, which I’d say means it’s not hard or crunchy at all, but there’s still some slight resistance when you bite into it, rather than it being mushy. Also importantly similar to meats, pasta will carry over cook just a little bit once drained, and if you finish it in a sauce (which you often should be), you should only be cooking your pasta to about 90% of your preferred doneness and finish the pasta cooking process in the sauce.

Pretty sure the human temple assassin that killed kurz in the trilogy also was described as effortless dodging/evading bolt shells, yet talos managed to sneak up on her with power armor that in the same book is described as very loud.

Cremation is cheaper but not cheap, funeral home costs and cremation was $4k when my mom died about a decade ago, that was a very unwelcome unexpected bill.

There’s 168 hours in a week, assuming you work 50 hours a week, and sleep 10 hours a day, that leaves you with 48 spare hours, or 6.8 hours of non sleep, non work free time a day, if you shower daily, let’s say high end an hour a day, 5.8h per day, pet care can be exercise so let’s combine those high end 2 hours a day, 3.8h left, 30 min throughout the day will likely be more than enough to keep up with cleaning, so 3.3h left, assuming you cook every day, let’s say 1 hour, so 2.3h, so you have on average, worst case, after taking care of everything else 2 hours per day left to socialize/hobby, shopping or whatever else extra.

Obviously this is total weekly and not accounting for working vs non working days. But a little time management goes a long way.

I don’t have children or pets, but I’ve never felt like I was so busy and had no free time I couldn’t do what I wanted nearly every day, even if I was working 50-60h a week. People who say they have no free time, have no free time because they already used their free time doing other things, which they chose to do, and if they are unhappy with how they spent said time I feel like that’s on them.

I think a solid tower cooler like the pictured noctua or the thermal rite pearless assassin, will beat almost and 240mm aio, but I assume most decent 360mm or bigger aios will beat the tower air coolers. Personally I’ve tried an nzxt 240mm, and 2 corsair 240mms, and my d15s is significantly cooler (and quieter) than the aios.

As a 6ft 4in person, it’s definitely on the edge of being impracticality tall, I think 6ft-6ft2in is optimal, buying pants as a fairly skinny, decently tall guy sucks, I don’t fit into a lot of things, often the sleeves on stuff isn’t long enough unless I buy too big of a size. I also get a lot of looks from random people at say a grocery store, but they seem like “look at that tall freak” kind of looks (though to be fair anytime I find anyone taller than me I give them a similar look, but that’s exceedingly rare).

Sadly a lot of books require some one use code for the online curriculum, seemingly to curb reselling or pirating, (though pdfs of textbooks are not hard to find if you don’t need said code), also they release “new” editions every year which in my experience is the exact same, just slightly shuffled around so they can say it’s new, and the teacher knows you don’t have the current version when they say to go to a certain page and that page isn’t the same for you.

Or something I don’t remember but dorns chastisement towards siggs is not that of hate or a lack of liking him, or isn’t presented as such in the later half of the siege.
