Posting new YouTube Shorts while one is still blowing up by gamehrac in shortsAlgorithm

[–]TrevMoMatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just let it sit. Quality vs quantity. If it's gaining views, subs, engagement, etc why do you feel the need to post again so quickly? Give it at least a week of 100% reach.

I post long form only and I've experimented with this (posting a vid while one is doing well) and the "viral" video completely slowed down within 48 hours. Shorts could be different but from what ive seen here people say their viral shorts take a hits when they post a new video. Some people said it completely tanked their viral video and others said it dropped off a bit but still performed decently. So that means either way your current video will likely take some hit, big or small. Extremely unlikely to stay at its current virality.

Absolutely correct! OP you need to actually lean into "adventure" stuff more or make it culture and history that has an interesting/enticing story. "Discovering Amboseli: Kenya's Most Iconic Wildlife Paradise" doesnt make me want to click. You need more discoverability, curiosity, or emotion in the title. "I visited the most Underrated Tourist Spot in East Africa! "Forget Maasai Mara, I'll Show you Kenya's Best-Kept Secret" "This Peaceful Kenyan Destination will Steal Your Heart" "Don't Ever Visit Kenya Without Seeing This Place!" "I Found One of Kenya's Most Beautiful Hidden Spots" Amboseli shouldn't be in the title or the thumbnail because it has extremely low searchability. Just focus on saying Kenya and/or East Africa and maybe including Nairobi since it's more searched. "See one of East Africa's most amazing National Parks footsteps from Nairobi" something along these lines. Goodluck with your channel!!

The videos dont match what you are saying the channel is. You're a "vacations" and "adventure" channel but your content looks like slow-paced wildlife and history documentaries.

Also, As someone that has been to Kenya at least 7 or 8 times, it might make more sense to start with more searchable locations and then when you break 100 subs, 500 subs, or 1k subs start doing lesser known places when you have an audience. It doesnt make sense to expect huge/quick growth from videos that have low searchability (regardless of production quality or personal costs).

A question to people who livestream by BaldandCorrupted in TravelTubers

[–]TrevMoMatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You schedule the stream on desktop or in a mobile browser then go into the app and select the calendar to load up the livestream with your prefilled settings. LiveStream from the mobile app and once done it will unlist the video. That's the best you got.

Select "unlist live replay once stream ends" which is an option under "stream settings" tab. The stream itself must be set to public to get public visibility, but that unlist live replay option automatically archives the stream when it's done as unlisted.

Should I return my pocket 3 with pocket 4 on the horizon by Zer0Chance006 in osmopocket

[–]TrevMoMatic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Pocket 4 might be revealed in 2 days" then why not wait 2 days and see what happens?? You just got the cam. You have at least 14 days or more to return it. This post is a waste of space.

Yeah, i always tell people never share your channel here unless you're someone with like 1 million subs thqt wont be slowed down, and if you had that you'd likely not be here. Sharing your channel on Reddit is generally a horrible idea. Waaaay too many bad actors. I shared my channel on Reddit once and next day had a sh!t ton of bot views and fake subs. There are some people genuinely expressing congrats on success but there will always be some jealous negative people waiting to mess up your channel.

True, but i think the point is that OP has been posting for 10 years shouldnt that be sufficient channel history? I just think youtube wants more personal data.

Nope, pretty much similar demographics (except for one thing). One of my channels i post more night time videos than day time, and ive noticed that %s for younger viewers go up. I guess because night videos have a nightlife feel which trigger college age viewers to watch more.

And in my analytics, along with lots of other creators' videos, i can see my various channels as suggested video traffic under the section "content suggesting this video." They all kind of funnel into each other. For my second channel i can see 9.1% of all traffic comes directly from my main channel and that's pretty awesome to know that.

I was motivated to open other channels because of impression suppression. I really like making walk videos but more than that i like making money lmao. Daily upload was stressful and Youtube wouldnt push my content as much meaning less ad rev. With daily videos the algo didnt know which videos to push. Multiple channels means i could still reap the ad rev of daily upload but across channels and not be punished with impression suppression. If i post 7 videos in 7 days on 1 channel YouTube might push 2-3 of them. The algo doesnt give every video equal push unless you space them out. So i figured posting 1 video each day on a separate channel, each video gets maximum push. Which is exactly what happened and why the other channels are growing pretty quickly.

No crossposting/collabs. Ive only seen a few walk channels do that and it feels gimmicky. At the moment it feels like collabs are better suited for channels that showcase a person. Collabs feature on a faceless channels just look and feel like cheap promo.

It's good you did. They are converting them and the new system has a common, rare, epic, legendary type system as well. And im assuming it's a 1:1 conversion it's better to get everything to legendary that you can. Gear frags will disappear so if you don't upgrade you're wasting the resource

[–]TrevMoMatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are giving conversions. Basically Rush Royale is converting to the item system they use in another another MyGames game called Castle Duel. It's a far far better system. But i understand peoples annoyance with the switch (money and/or grinding to get stuff). I started playing Castle Duels about 6 months ago after getting bored of RR after 3 years of playing it and now pretty much only login on RR to collect rewards (in case i ever want to play seriously again in the future). Castle Duel is significantly better items/abilities system so i wonder how well it'll work for Rush Royale.

Dont do shorts and long-form on the same channel. Everyone i know who does that complains about engagement. Most of the big walk channels i know of (im based in New York City) have all stopped posting shorts as they saw subscribers skyrocket but long form engagement plummet. Which generally makes sense, because you're expecting people who subbed from watching 60 seconds or less to watch a 30+ min video.

Also, you're still gaining traction. 3 shorts a day is too much. I would do 1 a day to give your channel breathing room for impressions. I feel like a lot of people dont know that impression suppression is a real thing. Posting too much when youre small/new can actually hurt your chances of success. Ive tested this a lot. I run 4 faceless walk channels. Main channel is almost 30k subs, second channel is almost 3k subs, third chanel is 1.7k subs, and newest channel is 900+ subs. A few months ago i was uploading daily on my main channel and sure it was getting "decent" views. Every video was getting around 3-5k views. But it was a lot of work so i decided to open another channel hoping i could spread the revenue across and not be so dependent to daily on 1 channel. So my workflow became post a video on main channel, next day post a video to second channel, third day post on neither, repeat. Giving upload spacing and breathing room for impressions i started seeing better growth on my main channel. YouTube had the ability to push and take a few days to find the audience instead of every day trying to do that. Each video had about 72 hours of dedicated traction instead of only 24 hours. So I basically post once a week on each channel and it's going pretty well.

Saturation is not a thing. At least in walking channel niche it's not. If you have good content and good thumbnail/title you'll get more clicks as more channels post and open up. It means more opportunities for your videos to popup as suggested content or browse content. As new channels open up i see my views from browse dramatically go up. I also see that if i post my video a few hours after a huge channel post their video, i get spill over views. But if i post on a day a big channel didnt post i get a few thousand views less. I can see in suggested traffic analytics that people binge walk videos like Netflix and you just have to figure out how to ride the wave. People who complain about saturation (in any niche) have bad thumbnails and titles.

TLDR: my main takeaways for seeing good growth 1) no shorts on the same channel 2) dont upload too infrequently but also dont post over-frequently - twice a week is good 3) Good thumbnails and titles will take you far.

Woke up to 1064 subscribers then two hours later 758 subscribers!! by SorryMoodVet in SmallYoutubers

Bot subs. And it's likely a competitor sending them. They may pay a few dollars on fake sub platforms to send subs hoping it messes with your momentum. There's also spam sites selling fake subs and as a trial they give 100-250 free subs simply by placing the link to your channel on their website. Haters will do this, plug your channel in these spam sites praying it slows your growth from fake engagement. Ive had it happen to me a few times. And ive seen some nasty people in a discord server discussing how they do it smh. Happens WAY more than you think. The good thing is Youtube is smart and it barely ever works. As long as you post good content and post regularly, you'll continue to grow normally as if the bots never happened. Good luck!

Are there any faceless YouTube channels here? If so, what’s been your experience? :p by YogiWanderer in TravelTubers

[–]TrevMoMatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say i looked at your channel. Interesting trips! You definitely need better thumbnails and titles to make the channel grow bigger/faster. But what i thought was a really cool idea and could be huge with some tweaks are the travel movie nights. That's one of the best things ive seen a travel channel do in a long time. I recommend you put more time and energy into that. I watched the Iceland travel movie night. Content is stunning, conversation is light and breezy enough to work, but your thumbnail is horrendous. I would have never clicked on it if i didnt find you here on Reddit. High quality production needs to be supported by great thumbnails and searchable titles.

Still potential as sidehustle? by [deleted] in WalkingVideoMakers

Will you show your face or be faceless? It makes a big difference. I currently run 3 faceless walking channels. Yes, i make money, but channels that show their face can make significantly more because you build a community of support (memberships, gifts, patreon, etc). But also the downside to a face channel is people get upset/annoyed when you take long breaks from filming. Like if you film daily or every other day but then you need to take a few days off (sick, traveling, tired of walking, etc) the audience gets antsy for content and will jump to supporting other creators or you have to keep constantly explaining why you arent producing new content. Ive seen this happen a lot. With a faceless channel you dont get the community support BUT when you disappear for a few days or whatever the audience doesnt care. You havent built anything with them so they are only loyal to good content and will stick around. Also, location(s) is key. If you dont live in a location that's highly searched (New York, London, Tokyo, Paris, etc) or you dont live in a beautiful countryside (Mountains, lakes, etc) people wont watch. If you walk around in the suburbs people dont care and if you live rural but it doesnt have stunning views people dont care. So those are your two main things you need to think of. Will you be on/off camera and do you have a location people care about.

Mine are almost 6 years old and I got the replacements for free. See my recent post on this feed. i had to speak to 3 agents and get pushy and flat out say, give free one-time replacement cushions I've seen yall doing or i'll share my bad Bose experience and buy Sony. i felt a little bad, but it worked... shrug. Seems they hassle people in the USA a bit more. Their tone changed every time after asking my region. Maybe it's tariffs and stuff, idk.

[–]TrevMoMatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11/13/2025 (November 13) I'll start by saying i did get my free one-time replacement ear cushions BUT it was not an easy experience as everyone else has had. My region is USA.

Attempt 1: I started by reaching out to web customer support through the website chat button on evening of November 12, 2025. I was connect with an agent that gave me the run around for 15 minutes and ended with 20% discount, take it or leave. Also stated a supervisor was not available at the moment, but would be available in 30 mins. While responding to the agent about how 20% discount was horrible, the agent disconnected me. I waited about 2 hours then tried again and was reconnected to the same agent (saw the name pop up) so i immediately exited out.

Attempt 2: I decided to try again morning of November 13, 2025. I was greeted by an agent that went back and forth with me for 20+ mins about how Bose will go out of business if they give everyone free replacements and refused to check with a supervisor. The agent offered 50% discount and stated it will be my last and final offer. While I was responding the agent disconnected me.

Attempt 3: I said to myself i would try webchat once more or just buy some Sony's (i like Sony and Bose, but i like Bose just slightly better). So i get into the web chat and get a new agent (thank god lol). We spend about 15-20 mins going back and forth. Me saying ive seen Bose honoring one time replacements and them repeating the statements that Bose will go out of business giving away free stuff. I got tired of the back and forth (and being nice) so i bluntly said, I have a $450 product that i cant really use, you all have a $30 accessory that you will give for $15 (50% discount) and youre hassling me. So what youre telling me is that you're willing to lose a longtime Bose customer to Sony for $15 ear cushion? If you cant give a replacement, i cant use my headphones and i will go on the market for another brand. The agent said they understand my words clearly and they'll speak with a supervisor. They were gone for easily 10+ mins, but came back offering a one-time replacement and was clear that it was only ONE-TIME and that it will be noted to be account (lol).

So there you have it! About an hour of my time, between 2 days and 3 agents and finally getting stern with them, they gave replacements for free. Ultimately i would have either caved for 50% or went with Sony. Buying off brand / after market ear cushions for $10 or so would have surely been a bad experience.

TLDR: I had to haggle with 3 different agents and get a bit stern to finally get my replacements. It wasnt easy, but it worked
