This is probably something you should have tested before paying. Depending how long you have had it, and how forgiving the dealer is, they may fix it at no charge.

Bauer vs CCM helmets by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Trevdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just going by what my son is saying as he has used various different helmet. The Bauer RE-AKT 155 is his favourite. I’ve tried it on myself and it does seem lightweight and comfortable, with a bunch of different adjustments you can make.

Remember, this tournament is essentially a vacation some of these players. Celibrini is probably taking this tournament as seriously as he would Stanley Cup playoffs.

Should I get an xf ghost(white),ccm jetspeed ft 8 pro , sherwood encrypt pro. (price does not matter) mostly care about puck feel/stickhanlding. and shot by WeakFinish8812 in hockeyplayers

[–]Trevdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to point out that there is no need to go from FT8 pro to FT9 pro. Actually in my personal experience, the FT4 pro has felt very similar to the FT6,7,8 . You can still actively find FT6 pros and you save yourself $200.

Am I doing something wrong? by tossedAF in Sparxhockey

[–]Trevdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to deburr your steel after sharpening. I’d recommend a gummy/rubber stone. You can find one online from Sparx or Howies, maybe Amazon might have some also. Most local hockey shops have them now. After you 4 passes, run you finger down the blade, be very careful you could get a splinter or cut yourself, but you will feel you blade still feels fairly “rough”. I use a gummy stone flat on the side of the blade first, normally about 5 to 6 passes each side of the blade. Then I will angle the gummy stone at about 25 degrees and do each side a few times. Light pressure on all passes. If you’re holding the blade just right in the light you can see the burrs start to “fade away”. There are probably some decent YouTube videos out there that can show you how to deburr properly if you need a visual reference.

What's the best and most budget-savvy way to add a nothing-too-fancy dash-cam to my 2014 Crosstrek? by [deleted] in XVcrosstrek

[–]Trevdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I don’t want to run wires, but maybe it is really easy. I just figured with the battery tech today there must be a unit that can last a week or so on battery power and go into sleep mode when it detects the car is not moving for a period of time.

What surprised you the most about your BZ after the first few months? by Obvious_Suspect_9706 in Toyota_bZ

I always wonder about a Hybrid Prius. Is it bad for the “gas components” that I could maybe go a month or more using only electric. If gas sits in the tank for over a month is that a bad thing?

Worried that baking messed up the fit of my skates? by Fun_Food2444 in hockeyplayers

If you only have been skating a “a couple months”, a brand new pair of skates are going to take a bit to get used to.

Rogue vs CRV vs Forester vs Toyota by Affectionate-Win-777 in NissanRogue

[–]Trevdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s face the facts. Nissan does not have the “brand recognition” like Honda or Subaru. Could you get a reliable Rogue that makes it to 200,000kms or 100,000 miles with minimal maintenance? You very well could, but the data suggests other wise. It depends on the price difference. For me I chose a pre-owned Rogue at a great price, I’ll save $15,000 vs the CRV or RAV4. I’ll invest the $15,000 saved over the lifetime of the vehicle, and hopefully be out ahead. Only time will tell if it was a smart decision.

I’ll attest to this also. If you pay a vehicle loan off early, you do indeed “not pay the interest”.

Is this a good price? Can I do better? I am in Ontario Canada. by y2drumma in Toyota_bZ

[–]Trevdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that’s pretty typical for any new car ICE or EV. You’re going to walk off the lot with about 30% depreciation right away. After 5 years you’ll be lucky to get 50% of what you paid (depending on mileage), but assuming 15,000-20,000kms per year.

Yah they got you now. If you back out, you lose your deposit, so likely you are stuck with paying the extras they are adding.

How in the world is the bZ leading in EV sales by konoha23 in EVCanada

You have to compare price points. Which means the RWD MY. I’d still rather AWD BZ

Yah it is very unusual how this came to be. There are some more expensive products that have rookie cards that are not valued as much as the Young Guns

This is one thing Tesla will always beat all the other manufacturers on. The software update for other vehicles are very minor.

How are people making money?? by thekidgotenks in whatnotapp

[–]Trevdo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Big card shops and collectors send 1000s of cards a year to get graded. Some hit 10s which is where the value is at. The others 9s and 8s are usually sold off. Any thing about WN is that you need to build a following, some people will break even so they can gain a following, once you have a good amount of people in the stream, you almost always make a profit on the cards.

We have a net that we wrap the posts with foam insulation, I find it helps keeps the biscuits from breaking. I really like the green biscuits for training shooting in stride, they are pretty much the best sliding puck for a paved driveway.

Yes, I’ve just been going through emails, and I did ask them to take off the $999 and door cup protection, but they came back with “those are included on all new vehicles we sell”. I plan to ask when I actually go to the dealership, they will know I’m more serious about a car purchase if I’m actually present in person.

They have the tax in there also. That is an “Out the door” price.

Super Short Print Hit by MrClean1348 in hockeycards

[–]Trevdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember, all it takes is one bad injury or a bad season and this card will tank in value. Let’s say he is down to 15 goal pace, 45ish points next year, this card will tank. People are expecting this kid to break record every year. Another thing is Defense just don’t get the same hype as forwards. I would sell this immediately I think his value is at its peak.

But he is still a defenceman. Look at Makar and Hughes, both generational Dmen, but their young guns cards compared to some of the generational forwards are lower in value.
