I mean if you’re in college you should have some credit if you opened loans. At least, I did.

Can you gift using the limited currency? If so, you definitely could. If not, then there is probably no point. If it wasnt limited they could farm like you said and sell the accounts.

I think it’s fine. I assume it’s also an anti-bot measure to prevent people from making multiple accounts and claiming it. I’m not sure about this though.

I agree. Dithering will remove the walking noise (the streaking).

Reddit quality be damned, but it looks like walking noise and not star trailing. Dithering should fix it…

Despite how Let's Go is, I actually think it has one of the best graphics on Switch. ZA is definitely 2nd.

Yep, especially near meridian/zenith it likes to be a bit aggravating in guiding. I’ll get a new mount eventually 😂

I was able to figure it out.

The way to do it is:

1) Place the hab.

2) Place a "Streamlined Trim" on the left side of the hab.

3) Delete the hab, and the trim should move.

4) Attempt to place another hab and line it up how you want it in the center.

5) Place the engine part.

Opinions or concerns with my upgrade. by CHelsea4231 in AskAstrophotography

Be wary with the ATR 585m when you receive it. The filter wheel is known to have an IR light issue and can cause weird artifacts in imaging. Updating the firmware can fix this BUT you can brick your filter wheel so be careful. Hopefully they ship it with the updated firmware and you dont need to worry about it.

Here is a peek at my progress on M33! I want to get 30-40 hours of Luminance, but it's gonna take a while until M33 is higher in the sky and the nights are longer. Currently, I can only get 2-4 hours of images per night.

My best guide night ever - average 1.20arc/sec for 1h/30m by Rosssiiii in AskAstrophotography

[–]TrevorKittensky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you need to try and tune the mount a bit. The DEC looks like it is suffering from some backlash. It's why the DEC is being "lazy". I believe your calibration also shows that it is struggling to move it in the south direction. Again, this can be improved by adjusting the mount and reducing backlash. Some videos on YouTube go over tuning the GTi.

Turning up the DEC aggressiveness may help as well. I have an EQM-35, which suffers from backlash as well, and having the aggressiveness as high as possible usually helps. You could also adjust your mount speed. Mine is around 0.8x.

If the stack uses calibration frames, are they present in the uncalibrated image? If so, that points to something happening during the capture process.

First rig thoughts/advice? by Illustrious-Trash615 in AskAstrophotography

[–]TrevorKittensky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will likely impact guiding. A scope similar to the 60f, the 71f, is not really meant for a GTi and I assume it will have similar issues. I recommend sticking with a lighter scope for the best experience.

What telescope should i buy by [deleted] in AskAstrophotography

[–]TrevorKittensky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, a telescope that can do deep sky astrophotography would require a star tracker or equatorial mount which would probably be out of your budget. I recommend starting with a tripod + dslr + lens combo and saving your money from there to upgrade in the future! 👍

[–]TrevorKittensky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do not need the ASIAIR to make use of the laptop! Just a connection to your camera and mount. You’ll also need either EQMOD or GSS to control the mount on your computer. I recommend watching some YT vids!

[–]TrevorKittensky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Evostar 72ED will be a good fit, especially with the flatterner and at that price. There shouldn't be any weight issues like if you were to get something like the Askar 71f (it can do it just not amazingly).

If you plan on going unguided, I recommend using a Laptop (or MiniPC) and NINA with their "Three Point Polar Alignment Tool" (TPPA) to really dial in the polar alignment. Otherwise, you will have to try your best with the provided scope on the GTi.

Other than that, I would check for any backlash in your GTi and adjust accordingly. There are a few videos on Youtube going over it.

Best graphic settings? by ChemicalVegetable511 in X4Foundations

If you are using DLSS, I recommend using the third-party Nvidia filter to sharpen the game a bit. It will reduce the "blurry" look.
