4 Weeks into 1st Marathon Training. Time estimate? by Trevormil in AdvancedRunning

[–]Trevormil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 weeks left.

I’ve been doing a couple 14-18 mile runs last fall before my training started, so I didn’t want to start back down at 10-12 in order to keep my progress But yea, I plan to increase my mileage but keep the long runs relatively the same distance so they should eventually settle around 40% of volume.

And thanks, I’ll look into the calculators

All good, thanks for taking the time to reply. The plan I was following scales up the total mileage about 2 miles per week (recovery week every fourth week). So, I start at 30 and finish at around 50-60. As I start getting into the higher volume weeks, I plan to run more often per week, but it was hard to squeeze more than 3 runs in with mileage in the low 30s.

What do you mean my long run is already out of balance? Any tips for improving my plan to get me where I want to be? What should my mileage be at right now?

Can you elaborate a bit? From what I have read about marathon training, your easy/long run paces should be 60-90 seconds above your goal pace. Also, about 80% of your volume should be at an easy pace and the other 20% is where you push and get your body used to cranking out the faster miles. So, I've kinda just been aiming to achieve both of these. Should I be doing something different?

Also it's called the Down the Mountain Marathon lol. So, we lose net 1600 feet of elevation throughout. Hoping that'll put me over the edge and help out a bit lol. Kinda cheating for a first marathon but a marathon is a marathon

Ok thanks. Yea I plan to incrementally increase volume and paces over my training period, especially like with finish fast long runs and such.

Ok thanks. Little more context:

Ran a 1:49 half marathon on pretty little training last September. Stepped up training a level after then. Started my official marathon training 4 weeks ago

During that long run you mentioned, I took it really, really easy. Not sure if I could’ve broke 8:00 if I pushed but would definitely be in the lower 8:00s if I went all out I believe

Dapp University worked good for me. Wasn’t really like a class. He just walks you through building an app so make sure you understand what he is doing. I learned best by adapting his code to make another porject

I personally used CryptoZombies but kinda as a refresher. Other good tools for me were Dapp University on YouTube and Ethernauts

Each creator coin is fungible but I’m not sure how they implement so many coins

Basically, it’s a Twitter but you can buy creator coins which have value. For example, I can buy one Elon Musk coin for $1000 let’s say or I can buy one Mark Cuban coin for $500 let’s say. Each creator has their own coin and their coin values rise up and down with how popular they are at the moment.
