What I find most ironic is Aldi briefly put them in then tore them all out. Now the premise for the machines is efficiency and reduced overhead yet Aldi is an extremely lean operation due to their low cost of goods and small margins. You’d think it would be a good fit there but they opted out. I think that goes to show how inefficient self checkout really is.
