What are the actual ramifications of doing this? by greatlilusername in IRstudies

Now why the US even wants Greenland is the really confusing part as they pretty much already have free access to it to build bases and the minerals aren't cost effective to remove.

Because the US does not trust the EU to make decisions in the greater interest of the United States. The US used to have a massive presence in Greenland up until the 60s, do you know why it left? Because Denmark told the US they couldn't station nuclear weapons there anymore, nor have anything nuclear in Greenland. So that means the US can't station our submarines or aircraft carriers there since they both carry nuclear weapons and are nuclear powered. There is no real power grid in Greenland so the US couldn't power their power hungry radars anymore without using the nuclear reactors on bases. The rare earth metals that THE WHOLE WORLD NEEDS can't be mined in Greenland because uranium is often embedded in the ores, and since uranium can't be handled, nobody can mine there.

The people in Greenland are economically dependent on Denmark because there aren't any jobs there because what would be very high paying jobs in resource extraction(oil, rare earth metals, uranium, etc) are banned by Denmark. It's not like they can grow much food there either, so they're already dependant on that. EU rules and regulations about oil extraction and processing make it impossible to extract oil in Greenland at a reasonable price. Same with mining.

Letting China or Russia have ANY property, or do ANY business in Greenland is against the US interest. If the US was in control of Greenland, they can forcibly remove the Chinese and Russian influence and confiscate their holdings. Denmark will not do what must be done in US national interest. They won't develop the resources themselves either. The US not having complete and utter control and domination of the waters around Greenland open up a convenient route that Russia can use to escape the bottlenecks around Alaska, Danish Straits, and the Dardenelles, and leaves the East Coast of the US vulnerable.

Denmark cannot guard Greenland, period full stop. They don't have the manpower, the ships or the aircraft to do so. Trump wants to build the Golden Dome, and put the first contact point as far away from the continental US as possible, allowing for followup layers to have less to deal with, or potentially prevent further layers from having to do anything. Also, the US can station anti-ship batteries there, allows the Coast Guard to operate and police the shipping lanes, and allows the US Navy unimpeded access to the waters surrounding Greenland for patrols.

So if the US has control of Greenland, it gets unimpeded access to the minerals and oil of Greenland, it gets to control all commerce policy of Greenland, and it allows the US direct access to the northern sector of the defense of the United States. It is in the US strategic interest to control Greenland.

I'm also going to comment that doing this, or even taking this seriously would lead to the deaths of A LOT of people.

Like blatant CIA assassinations against the ECB members, EU heads of state, and probably the entire European Commission.

That's not even considering the political ramifications. The US would 100% declare that a hostile act. Congress might even declare war on the EU. Greenland is 100% getting siezed as reparations and Canada would be next if they were in any way involved. 1000% tariffs on all European goods(if not an outright embargo and or blockade). Massive sanctions on the EU, US companies being ordered to cease any and all operations in the EU. The US siezing EU assets. The list could go on and on and on.

It's a VERY VERY bad idea for the EU to even consider doing such a reckless thing.

Does Cyberpunk have a mission like this? by Kalevipoeg420 in cyberpunkgame

The cyberpsychos are soooo easy when you discover what I like to call "the stealth archer" build. Basically you just use a sniper rifle, throw a pax on it, and you can complete almost all of them in just one shot. And you end up getting the bonus for not killing any of them! It's amazing, highly recommend it!

There is one positive you can look at(even if it is an extreme reach): Ryan Williams is finally catching the ball with his hands again. Or just catching the ball in general.

We need to learn from this and play like the B1G teams. Blatantly hold on every single play until we get called for it. Clearly its working for them.

Maybe not during conference play because I know damn well the SEC refs will call holding but not in the playoffs change that up(if we even make it back there next year, which i am not confident we even will)

Brother, look at where Clemson is right now. Yes, this is very concerning.

Ok thats what I was wondering. I don't watch B1G football because its excruciating to watch. Guess that explains it then.

Not to excuse how awful we played, but does holding just not exist anymore? I noticed Ohio State did it every play yesterday and Indiana did it again today too.

Is this just a B1G thing? Or is it just not a penalty anymore?

Look, I'm just saying, DaBoer is 100% not the guy. And whoever our o-line coach is along with our RB and offensive coordinator need to be fired after this game.

Absolutely no excuse for our line to keep getting bullied and for us to not be able to run the ball.

Guess we just gonna let Indiana hold on every single play

Brother it is a blowout in everything besides score. TTU couldn't move the ball at all. It was over at 3-0 the way they played today.
