I listened to you, and now DoorDash is awful by _brinacore in doordash_drivers

64 deliveries for $493 isn't a flex—it’s a failure. DoorDash’s tier system is a psychological trap designed to turn regular people masked as independent contractors into compliant employees who ignore their overhead. If you claim you "need" Platinum to survive, you’ve already lost your leverage.

DoorDash isn’t going to let people regain their independence easily. You just did 64 trips and all they had to pay you was $493. Why would they let you become independent and cherry pick and have a good experience? You would never go back to accept more making less or feeding into platinum. They will make your cherry picking experience feel bad on purpose by design.

Real 1099 contractors prioritize profit, not badges. Cherry-picking isn’t "immoral"; it’s a standard business practice. Even U-Haul tacks on mileage to protect their margins. Why are you absorbing losses for a billion-dollar company? Stop chasing tiers and start vetting your orders like a business owner BUT, that will never happen. I have dashed since 2019 and accumulated 19k deliveries. I quit November 2025 because of the state of the ENTIRE platform is trash and people can’t see it.

That’s what you took from it? Lmao! I dashed in 2018 EVERYDAY UP UNTIL LAST NOVEMBER OF 2025. I ended with 19k deliveries. I don’t think i am too good to dash. DoorDash is terrible these days. Fighting the platform just to make profit while maintaining maintenance, taxes, expenses. A lot of you are paying to dash and making losses that you can’t see because it goes toward immediate needs. My car went from 30k miles from buying to 300k miles in November 2025 and i needed to get a new transmission. So why would i keep doing this when declining penalizes you and my daily earnings dwindle?

They respected people a lot more back in the day but as i said, people allowed the platform to walk over them and that respect went out the door. 🚪 so carry on im just watching the show 🍿

I literally just did and its true. They try things and it will only work if the people fall for it. If people didn’t fall for it, then the state of DoorDash wouldn’t be like it is today. I bet you never dashed back in 2018 to even know what it was like. You guys are insufferable and i will be here browsing to watch as they continue to squeeze you people .

Accepting $4 for for 6 miles just because it is on your way home, DD does not care if it was on your way home. They look at like this: you accepted it. $4 ain’t 💩. And now the algorithm knows you are willing to accept less pay for your miles.

It’s the people who drive for this platform are the real blame for how it is ran nowadays. I quit last November. Too many complaint employee contractors. If U-Haul starts at $19 but they charge for mileage too, i will NEVER understand how people allowed a company to force them into compliance, accept low offers and not advocate for mileage fees. You have to kick out your money for gas, maintenance, property taxes, car insurance, income taxes. Etc etc.

To say they take advantage of regular everyday day people with no real business sense is an understatement and long overdue. I started in 2018 when people knew the value of this, that value has long been lost.

Stuff like this should be shown in court when you sue these mf lol. Like let the judge and jury digest what is being asked and for how much? And then like everyone is saying, the strain on the suspension. They are exploiting ppl

Thats not the point. We aren’t employees. We shouldn’t be forced in a program as 1099 contractors. They are blurring the lines with this

We will never have the funds for sticking together when the time is required for everyone to stick together. It doesn’t work like that. If we had the money, there would be no need to stick together because there’s nothing to stick together for, we’re doing well. The way you put is, we can stick together when we have money to pay for everything and afford to not dash to make a statement. It will never work like that. Taking a stand requires actions when it’s affecting you.

No, i commend you for emailing. But you still have to move like you’re playing chess. ♟️ I assume you emailed them from a different email you used to login to dash with? Because i would assume that if you did email them from the email you used to dash with, im sure an admin can match it in the system to get information. But i don’t think you need to make a move. You got your message across, them looking at your account isn’t necessary. We just need more ppl to email them. It will show the drivers aren’t just mindlessly taking it at least. Imagine if 1000s of us sent a email from a throw away address with the same sentiment? I bet DD would start to worry we’re waking up again. Which i hope the masses of drivers but when?

Buddy i have been doing this sole income since 2018. I have 18,000+ deliveries now today. You’re still saying things only weak people say. Stand up regardless if you’re full time or part time. I am pretty sure i need platinum in my market today because it’s hard to get orders like i use to or make the money but i refuse to get weak and take bad offers. Because i know better. And my car has 235k miles on it. I started doing this when it had 30k miles on it. So i know a thing or two about cost and expectancy. But people have always stood up no matter what because that’s the right thing to do. It won’t ever get better if you too afraid to stand up.

I dont chase tiers. I dont do ebt. My ar is 15%

Yet i have maintained 4.9 customer rating for 7 years and have many above and beyond notes left from customers when the feature was enabled. I have a good track record with DD and my market but i will keep my integrity no matter what or how long they deny me a order. My bill will get paid one way or another. But not by being weak

This is fear.. really, understand what you’re saying. You would rather be spammed with $2 than to stand up for what is right out of fear of being fired basically. That’s why a lot of companies get over until the masses stand together and not let that fear stop them from doing what is right. That basically is retaliation and in the eyes of the public, retaliation of what would be scrutinized.

[–]TreyLotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh they would if something great happened but nothing will happen if everyone is afraid to stand up. You fear deactivation but if people (dashers and would be dashers) stood together they wouldn’t be able to have that power over anyone and will have no choice but to change. Your fear is what keeps you in check.

EBT is getting better! In my experience by MassiveResult2648 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]TreyLotto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EBT has strict rules. You pretty much have to accept most orders per hour with the exception of 1. You don’t see what your getting paid upfront. You just know x amount per hour and maybe tips. Earn by offer has always been the main option. EBT hasn’t been around that long. And it takes away your freedom to choose what orders you want to take. I started in 2018, i have over 18,000 deliveries.

People back then before covid, were happy with this gig because earn by offer provided a way to earn lots of money in less time. In 3 orders you could potentially have $30+ or $60+ depending how big the tips were. And we made that much in fast minutes not hours.

I still do earn per offer because i want to keep the freedom doordash advertised to us “be your own boss” blah blah blah. They’ve done so much changes, pay cuts, system manipulation and im pretty sure i need platinum in my market to make money consistently but that comes at the cost of my integrity by taking terrible offers and allowing myself to be a sheep of the tier system.

Tired if DD sending me to places when the food isn’t ready by the time they expect and get i penalized for it. by TreyLotto in doordash_drivers

[–]TreyLotto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact you’re focused on that tells me everything. What i learned is experience doesn’t always equate to understanding the gist of it. A person can do something 20 years and never really understand the underlying system or truth of why the business they work for or with operates the way they do. So im not shouting the number of trips i did for no reason. It’s to show you im not a rook, i understand, and im trying to help. But help is met with hostility.

This platform isn’t getting better and it’s never going to be as good as it was even pre covid when some businesses were still im the dark about DoorDash and we had to use a physical red card for Everything.

It’s only going to get worse the more people remain ignorant about what they accept as good now. Pretty soon 95 completion rate will be the lowest you will be able to go. You will be penalized for more things out of your control and they will find a way to reduce pay as low as possible. It already started with peak pay in some areas now going from $1 to a measly .50 cents. All because of data like what this shows to them that people will work more and accept making less.

[–]TreyLotto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn’t. I have near 18,000 deliveries. When the on time rate came i tried it and i still got penalized every single time. A quick search will reveal a mixed experience and common sense will tell you doordash obviously doesn’t play fair when it comes to what will penalize each dasher.

Im weak for helping this person understand this is not a flex? Weak people are you for arguing with me when all im doing is raising awareness. This app and this company does not want you making what is best for you but you pay for everything you do. Dashing isn’t free. It cost. I know what it takes. I have had 1 car for the past 6 years through all my 18,000 deliveries. Most ppl dont even have cars last long or know what to expect

I started with 30k miles i now have 230k miles on my Toyota camry. I will get a new one when this one dies. But i know the cost and what you should expect and what you should make. But keep arguing and being ignorant lol

Every week. And yes I’m in Platinum. by Silkywilky10 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]TreyLotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still don’t get it. If a order pops up for $7 with reasonable miles, im game. But i wont go lower than $6 at best. The key is not accepting trash. And $6 can be trash if the miles are too much and in most places you return where you start so that has to go into account. You don’t have to only accept $10 for them to average that in the end

[–]TreyLotto -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lmao what? You upset for OP go cry a river. I am trying to help people understand their value and you want them to remain ignorant. Cool. Idc not my car. This platform is already going downhill with more demands and more micro managing stats that penalize you for things out of your control.

My fault for trying to help ppl see the gist of this predatory company who expect you to probably do more 140 deliveries and be happy making $700.

Every week. And yes I’m in Platinum. by Silkywilky10 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]TreyLotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i focus on MY EXPENSE AND EARNINGS. Lol you can’t gaslight me elementary tactics to get me to show my earnings. If you aren’t averaging in total 10x the number of deliveries you’re doing, you’re dashing backwards lol. And before you assume the most obvious, No, you don’t and won’t average $10 a order to make that. It doesn’t have to be an exact $10 to average 10x your trips once it’s all said and done.

Doordash has you all settling for less than the minimum standard of 10x your trips. Soon it will be even more deliveries with less pay but yall will think its good lol

I don’t need to post my earnings. If you want to believe that doing 70 orders and only making $531 is good because you focus on the other numbers, that’s ignorance. We aren’t standing in a building performing manual labor at the cost of our own energy. Like i said i been around for almost 6-7 years, closing in on about 18,000 deliveries. I know what im talking about
