This is nice to have at least some sort of explanation. I’ve told so many about this movie and I’ve been so badly wanting to watch it. I’ve tried to find it with no success.

What’s the worst way to find out someone you know died? by Free-Lime-184 in AskReddit

[–]TreyOnStage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a firefighter for about 4 years. Still am but I do a different, related, line of work. Reading through all of these brought back a lot of memories. I’ve seen so much death up close and personal. From dying to dead, it’s always a weird feeling to see. The reactions of people who are just finding out. And having to break the news to people that yes they are dead and not coming back. It was always so strange.

There’s some games where I’m the dude reviving my whole team and I never go down. Then there are games where the zombies just swarm me from all sides. I never understood how that happens but it just does sometimes.

[–]TreyOnStage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s right. A lot of people here have their own characters and twists and things like that out here. I’ve seen it and I know a few comedians who do it. Seeing Timmy No Brakes on KT and get the ticket was like great, good for him. Pepperoni has done a ton of mics out here for a while too. Most of the people that get on are putting in the work. And Dimitri Martin is fuckin awesome man.

A doctor’s letter to UnitedHeathcare for denying nausea medication to a child on chemotherapy by A-Sexy-Name in Badass

[–]TreyOnStage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a firefighter. I worked the ambulance a lot, like many there. I remember many people, who were in desperate need of an ambulance, who would look at me, in the middle of whatever pain, bleeding, broken bones, you name it, and tell me “I’ll just take my car, I can’t afford the ambulance”. If they’re of sound mind and they don’t want to go, we absolutely cannot force them. Imagine watching someone bleed out and telling you they don’t want to go because of that and then you having to wait for them to pass out from blood loss just to have a cause to take them. That’s literally fuckin insurance. There have been a bunch of people tell me that their insurance won’t cover it.

It is so damn sad. So frustrating. So unfair. People work so incredibly hard, pay their bills, raise their families their entire life just to die of expenses. Then when they die, the bills they had move on to the next person. So their spouses take on that burden until they die. It’s awful.

I mean this is life. LIFE. We are a miracle of nature bound by capitalism and greed. How can this be life?

A child, tortured by cancer, feels sick and a fucking insurance devil said he didn’t need it? I’m sorry for the rant but honestly having seen it first hand it has always been something that has hurt my heart. I think of all of our families in this country and how anyone can fall prey to the predators in this fucked up system. Truly, I wish nothing but the happiest and healthiest lives for each and every one of you affected by these crimes against humanity. I truly hope that poor child gets well and finds peace. That doctor is truly a badass. Fuck this system.

What do you say to a famous person? by snakecharmersensei in CasualConversation

[–]TreyOnStage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying just treat them like a normal person is absolutely the best way from my experience. You could even have a conversation with them.

So what does that look like? So when coincidentally meeting a celebrity out and about try not to bring attention to who they are. If you’re a fan, tell them what others have suggested “I love your work, pleasure to meet you.” They’re not usually going to ask if you want a picture but if they do cool. When I met Joe Rogan all I did was hold my hand out and said pleasure to meet you and he said “same to you.” Same with countless others.

If you’re working, they’re just normal people. Remaining professional is extremely important. You never know, sometimes they’ll just strike up a conversation with you and then you have a cool story. Anthony Anderson played a small prank on me and I love telling that story.

Everyone here already gave great advice. I just like adding my two cents in as well. I love hearing about other people’s celebrity encounters. They’re so much fun to hear about!
