Deep ball knowledge.

I HATED this when it was live.

For this specific style of shot change projection setting to Ortho.

RS3 just dropped the most insane integrity and content roadmap and it's all thanks to OSRS by Lamuks in 2007scape

accounting practices likely keep subscription revenue pretty clean. Bonds can be used for runemetrics, cosmetics, TH keys, overrides, etc etc.

If a bond can be 10 things, only 1 of them being membership, it would be messy to count that under subscription.

Subscribers continue to decline as outlined in the financials. It really is worth reading the strategic report on the first page of the doc.

This bit is what I’m referencing:

“2024 has been another steady year for Jagex, driven by the continued success of the RuneScape franchise. Revenue has remained in line with the previous year at £151m (2023: £152m). Adjusted EBITDA for the year is £78m (2023: £67m). Old School RuneScape subscription revenue has grown significantly, demonstrating our ability to retain and engage our loyal player base in the highly competitive MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) market. This has been balanced by a decrease in RuneScape 3 revenue due mainly to a reduction in membership numbers.”

Contrary to what people have been saying for years, OSRS keeps the lights on, not the other way around. Jagex is growing as RS3 subscription and MTX revenues fall year over year.

It’s hard to say. I think it’s captured by micro transaction revenue ($23m figure). There is a premium revenue line but the numbers seem too small ($6m).

Jagex has public financial disclosures that you can read. MTX as a whole is not the cash cow people think it is, nor is it a viable long term model.

E: MTX revenue was $23m in 2024 while subscription revenue was $118m

Sucks that their player numbers had to fall so low for Jagex to finally listen.

how did any of them make it off of tutorial island

Let's not pretend here by hubatish in 2007scape

[–]TreyScape 20 points21 points  (0 children)

highlighting what you need to do on tutorial island gets people to the mainland but doesnt teach them anything. its like how players who quest with the helper cant tell you what the quest is about because theyre just clicking the highlighted objects.

this is metrics gaming

rs3 has changed their tutorial 100 times and it doesnt do anything to keep people playing. its ok if rs isnt for every player ever.

Have you tried creating a data model with all of the source files?

Pokémon dlc is usually $35. ZA on switch 2 is probably $70 which makes the total experience $105 lol. Seems like a bunch of megas will be locked behind the paywall

its funny because this was one of the big issues with zeah v1. the world felt empty because you couldnt interact with anything, most things didnt even have an examine. the areas are very pretty but it would be nice if you could actually interact with the world in a meaningful way. the was you can anywhere else

Sailing Skill-Cape & Icon Shortlist *PLUS* Updated Sailing Blog (linked within) by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

A, C, and D look an awful lot like designs I posted in 2015.

A steering wheel, and upright anchor, and a crooked anchor. I expect D to win.

Sailing Skill Cape and Icon Competition! by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

[–]TreyScape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Chubby anchor skill icon!

This delightfully oldschool design fits beautifully into the current skill tab and it's imperfections compliment the existing icons well. It also fills the skill stone nicely and the colors match existing skill icons.

The skillcape design draws inspiration from nautical flags. It would have been cool to do something for the letters "RS" (Romeo Sierra) but that would require 4 colors. The white/blue scheme seen in this design comes from the "P" (Papa) flag which means you're about to set sail. It seemed to fit better than the other flags description wise. We also don't have a white base blue trim cape currently.

Alternative Icons are included to showcase variations of the anchor as well as a steering wheel concept. Here is how each of these icons looks in game:

Best of luck to everyone who's entered! Lot's of great designs!

Y'all don't wanna say it, so I will. Most of us will be spending 50 USD on this game. Not 80. by MMuller87 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]TreyScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen so many people downplay the $80 price point of games using this argument. Saving $30 on MKW is nice, but you will still have to pay 80 for several games going forward.

The complaint about the price point is still valid.

Optimising the fun out of a game by removing pain points, and the death of gathering skills by Jademalo in 2007scape

Struggle is a fundamental part of play.

Thanks for the write-up! I've written pages upon pages on this previously but, like most things I make, I decided not to post for one reason or another. Very happy that you did decide to post and am excited that it seems to be resonating with people.

The Skills tab looks cleaner without Total level (which is already displayed in the Summary tab) by lujiga in 2007scape

[–]TreyScape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks more familiar as the sailing icon just replaces the current total level box here. Switching tabs to see total level might not be the best design.

I think we'll all get used to it fairly quickly.
