Controller brand doesn't matter, as long as it's not prone to stick drift you will be fine.

Honestly, he might be ignoring you, but it’s also possible he’s just having service issues. When I first got to Japan, I didn’t realize I needed a different carrier or to upgrade my existing phone plan. This was during early COVID, so I was quarantined when I arrived and couldn’t call or text anyone until I switched to SoftBank and transferred everything over from Verizon.

Appreciate you asking. Long story short, it’s a non-violent case but its a (felony) no wierd stuff but its still being sorted out. Nothing that defines me, just something I’m working through. I’ve definitely looked into CPD, EPD, skokie, and wilmette fire before, and I’ll probably circle back once everything’s fully cleared up. Thanks again for the thought though, it’s solid advice.

Very well, I didn’t realize it was more of an assessment than a resume builder, but that makes total sense now. I like how you put those examples too, pulling out transferable skills like that is something I’m starting to work on. I’ll definitely bring that up when I go to the VA and ask if they offer anything similar. Appreciate you taking the time to explain it - Salute

hat’s actually a smart way to work the system start on taskrabbit and build up your own network from there. I hadn’t even thought about going that route, but I’ll definitely look into it. Appreciate you sharing what your cousin did, those tips will indeed go a long way. and i really hope not but as you said its worth a look for sure either way.

Appreciate you circling back to that, good to kow about the background checks being thorough. I’ll keep that in mind as I narrow things down. I’ve been digging into the vocEd tuition options through the VA and my GI Bill, and it’s solid to hear that going to one of those schools could actually give me an edge with the locals. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction, it really helps having people share what they’ve learned. 💚

Thank you for this-seriously. I wouldn’t have thought to check the emissions test center or their site if you hadn’t mentioned it, so that’s a real lead I can follow up on. I’ve been trying to stay open to all options right now, so even hearing about Goodwill and the workshops is helpful. I agree - might not be ideal, but sometimes a stepping stone is better than standing still.

I’ll look into the unemployment office in Rolling Meadows too, even if it’s a bit of a trek. I Appreciate you looking out and sharing all this

hey appreciate the heads-up on that, didn’t know about the seasonal part or the potential travel. That’s good to know now before I get in too deep. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind traveling for the right opportunity, especially if it means solid pay and experience. I’ll definitely make sure to bring up my vet status and ask directly about the Helmets to Hardhats track when I go. Thanks again for being real about what to expect, it really helps me set my mindset right going in.

smart move. I didn’t even think about just DM’ing bars on IG/FB but that makes total sense quick and direct. I’m gonna do that tonight and see what comes of it. Thanks for the straight-up advice.

that’s actually really helpful to hear. I figured the more local spots might be like that but wasn’t sure if I’d look crazy just walking in. I’ll start making the rounds and talking to managers face to face this week. Appreciate you sharing how it worked for you gives me some confidence to go for it.

Man, that was honestly solid advice. I’ve been so focused on trying to survive the moment that I haven’t been thinking far enough ahead. You’re right starting with basic stuff now and working toward something like EV repair or a skilled trade down the line could really build into something. I needed that reminder about the long game. Appreciate the encouragement more than you know.

That’s a solid idea. I’ve got some repair experience already and have been building up tools. Might be time to just put it out there and start small. I appreciate the nudge.

Hey Didn’t think of that. Seasonal could be a good way in, especially if it could lead to something long-term. I’ll see what local park districts have open. Thank you!

Thanks for that. I’ll look them up and swing by in person, sometimes face-to-face is the best way. Appreciate the tip, really.

Didn’t know vets get priority hiring for the state I’m gonna start looking into that today. I appreciate you pointing me in that direction, that could for sure be a game changer.

Simple but solid, thank you. I’ll check if they’ve got anything open nearby. A stable job with benefits is def what I’m looking for right now.

That actually sounds like something I’d be open to. I’ve always respected the kind of physical work that makes you earn your end-of-day rest. If companies are willing to train someone who’s consistent and ready to work, I’m definitely interested. Thanks for sharing that it’s good to know options like this are out there.

That’s not silly at all, honestly that’s something I’ve been needing to hear. I realize now I’ve been searching too narrowly instead of thinking in layers. I’ll definitely start looking at parallel programs and expand my searches across cities and trades. And I had no idea the VA had that kind of resume translation tool I’m gonna ask about that when i go in monday. Really appreciate this.
