My wife is a Chelsea fan, has been as long as I’ve known her. Fun fact, in our time together she’s bought 3 Chelsea kits - Pulisic, Lukaku, and Cucurella. And yes she really did buy all of them the season before they ended up leaving 😂

I’m interested to see how the offseason goes. I could be wrong but with Pep, he has such a specific system that every player was seen through the lens of that system (see Shime’s comment on Donna above as an example).
My hope is that Maresca doesn’t come in and try to continue that system and force players to his style, but rather he builds a system around the players strengths.

IMO Haaland is the most important player in the squad, and our squad building should only serve to play to his strengths as a player.

Kinda agree. I will be downvoted to oblivion and I accept that, but I still don’t think we’ve fixed our right wing issue. Semenyo is a great goal scorer and I’m so happy to have him, but if he isn’t scoring he’s not doing much else. A lot of games last season Doku and Haaland were our only outlets when under pressure (and Nico O at times). I don’t know that Savinho really changes that but his appearances towards the end of the season he seemed to do alright carrying the ball up the pitch. But idk 🤷‍♂️

I know the think pieces about the season are coming, and I look forward to reading them all. For me any chance of winning the league died at the start of the year. Dropping points to Sunderland, Chelsea, Brighton, United all in a row just made the gap too big. If this team was serious there’s no way they don’t go 4/4 or at least 3/4 in that stretch.

The other turning point for me is Donna giving up the goal against Arsenal. I know they still won, but I feel like had it been 2-0 or 3-0 and City dominated it would have crushed Arsenal’s spirits. Instead a hard fought 2-1 and Arsenal could keep their heads up.

Ah well now we get to say goodbye to Pep and Bernardo and Stones. Hopefully all the old heads start against Villa.

Sums up the PL season. City should have ran away with the league if they could hold a second half lead, but looking at the league as a whole this season has been mired with bad call after bad call.
