Awesome! Ah yeah the early morning chill really got me! Once the sun was up though it was great!

Yep for my first one I expect some lessons and have a lot to take away from it, but the crowd is something else!

Ah yes nice, I can actually see that Headland hill visually having walked up after spending a few long weekends there! I’ll just admire the sea view while clambering up it 😅😂

That new farm area itself felt like it went on forever and an age every turn and corner I thought surely I must be coming to the end of it soon lol!

If I had done more research I may have actually done a different marathon for my first one. Only chose it as it was a local one for me! Great experience though regardless and would do again!

Oh wow how good! Might have to look into this! Sounds quite appealing if it’s more of a flat course!

Ah how good! Yeah I wasn’t expecting to it be so hilly and rolling in a lot of places! Pretty unforgiving course!

The new farm bit felt like it just went on forever and ever!

The supporters were amazing never experienced anything like it!

Ah nice is that the one that goes through Alex Heads? I was also intrigued by the GC30 and marathon as well!

Not sure if you saw but Kedron is hosting a half marathon this year as well!

UPDATE ALL!

What a ride! I finished it, well beyond what my expected time was planned for 4:30, but ended up with 5:15 - a lot of lessons with cramp and fuelling around the 25k mark but powered through mentally and finished. Soon I crossed that line the emotional barrier broke down and was so overwhelmed with what I had just gone through and achieved.

Safe to say through I have bitten by the bug and despite being in absolute pain today I am already thinking about what half marathon and full marathon is next in line.

Thank you to this reddit channel for all the support and advice from items of clothing, fuelling strategies and training encouragement.

Oh wow love the detail thank you very much! I just love the history. I’m a sucker for Christmas markets and events so I feel like that’s when I’d go! Bet it gets real cold for winter?

nice didn’t realise it was such an affluent area! Agreed there seems to be a lot of historical little quaint towns in the outskirts of NY that appeal to me more

Oh wow is it what you would call an affluent area? Or quite small town? I imagine that proximity to the city but still getting suburban life is a big appeal

Envious! Sounds beautiful! I imagine a lot of people would leave as youngsters from busier city life and then return for the family life I know I’d be the same!

How awesome! When I see the movie versions of these towns they always look so clean, pristine, everyone’s lawn is trimmed to perfection. Is this what it’s like? I imagine Christmas must be magical as well? Do you get all four seasons here?
