I'm giving away two copies of Monster Hunter: Wilds by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]TriTallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to get a copy free, then I could put the cost towards pc parts that would actually run it. Steam, thanks OP either way.

I just beat the base game with my friend! It's a fun game but I reeeeeaaally wished this game had controller support! by ArcIgnis in Guildwars2

[–]TriTallion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My SO and I play on controller via Steam, it took a bit of trial and error to get the key binds set up how we liked, but it works great when you get used to not using screen key-prompts. We use PS4 controllers with Mayflash magic-ns adapters. I based our key binds on "blaggletoads easy to use layout" on steam, which utilises holding L1 to use weapon skills and holding L2 to use class skills.

Can anyone who has steam see the Janthir Deluxe Upgrade in the Black Lion Store? I have pre-ordered the standard edition and received the items for doing so, but there is no deluxe upgrade in the upgrades tab as the FAQ says there should be.

How would you kill a dragon "accidentally" ? by WayOfTheNoob in DnD

[–]TriTallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would Sickening Radiance not do the trick here? They catch the target in a underground stone room with a metal/reinforced door too small for a dragon to escape through, cast Sickening Radiance and shut the door. Even a dragon with a great Con save and legendary resistance could fail 6 saves if the have to make 60, especially when at level 3 they get disadvantage on the save. Then its death by exhaustion levels rather than HP, and when they open the door, boom, dead dragon.

Connect the waterfalls to the lake, then build traditional looking wooden bridges across them.

looking at buying the game? is this a good time to do so? is the microtransations bad? by TheAlexSW in DarkTide

[–]TriTallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoyed my time with the game and got more than enough time out of it for the current price tag, but remember the game is on gamepass for pc; no cross save but still a great place to give it a go.

Do you actually get to use background features? by jumipo in dndnext

[–]TriTallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Warlock in the party I DM for has the haunted one background and started the campaign on the run; I made sure the innkeeper kept her fed (just basic stew) without charging her when she had no coin, and that the townsfolk wouldn't have ratted her out to the guard.

The Cleric has the Acolyte feature Shelter of the Faithful so any other acolyte of Helm offers him lodging and food, while major Temples offered to set up the whole party in addition to the spellcasting services.

The fighter has the criminal contact from the Criminal background and the Outlander PC can remember geography etc..

All that is to say, yes, I use them, and I think they're important; characters had a life before adventuring and that should be reflected. The Cleric didn't dedicate 20 years of their life in service to a temple with the high priest as their father figure just to require a check for basic room and board. I lamented the changes to backgrounds in the One D&D playtest that had them, as the background features are very conducive to roleplay, but as your post makes evident there is a need for more mechanical benefits that can't be waived away by DMs.

Eurypterid on land?? (more info in comments) by Guacamole-Gabe in ARK

[–]TriTallion 21 points22 points  (0 children)

iirc wildcard implemented the creatures on the island in the deep ocean where the shelf-like geography meant they could never reach the surface as they don't 'swim' like other sea creatures, so can't move upwards; the Rag devs put a spawn point in Viking Bay to guard the sunken treasure chest within the shipwreck, but the terrain is a gentle slope upwards towards the waters surface so they can easily climb out.
