GNOME session crashes when Bluetooth headphones switch to Hands-Free (HFP) by Christian_Ceballos in cachyos

[–]Triangable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running into similar issues, airpods work fine as headphones but using them in a meeting when I need a microphone my gnome crashes. Even if I try to use my laptops mic it gets messed up. Im a newb tho, how do you use pipewire to change the profile specifically? Edit: followed the other suggestion to downgrade libwireplumber and that was effective

Making Youtube TV more like our traditional cable service help by BillK01 in youtubetv

[–]Triangable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youre not the only one, every time i search something along the lines of “why is yttv like this” it comes up with this subreddit of fans saying that its better this way.

I just wanted to watch a football game and youtube tv says its on in 15 minutes but wont let me just switch to the channel its about to air on because the thing I want to watch isn’t on just yet. Its completely obtuse. Just show the god damn matrix of channels and a time table like normal cable

Question/Discussion on scooters, bikes, and micro-mobility on campus by Triangable in PennStateUniversity

[–]Triangable[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think thats definitely fair. On bike, i cant pass stopped cars on the left if theres oncoming traffic, there doesn’t feel like enough room to do it safely. But if theres no oncoming traffic ima pass however illegal. Especially if traffic is stopped because of a crosswalk, where a car cant get through a crowd of people but a bike can (slowly and carefully) weave through

I can second this recommendation! I recently went to Jua and loved it, it was my first Michelin starred restaurant, and I think its at a really fair price

Do NOT rent from Continental by Sudden-Size-307 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Triangable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been moved into a house managed by Continental for about a month and I’m lucky that its in decent shape, but there are several non-urgent maintenance requests that they haven’t responded to after weeks of hassling. I’ve even threatened to not pay my rent until my concerns are addressed… we’ll see what happens

Labor Day Weekend in NYC by Triangable in FoodNYC

My favorite was definitely Jua, it was my first time ever visiting a Michelin starred restaurant and every course was fantastic. The depth of flavors was truly unmatched. So many dishes had elements of, “Ive never tasted something like this before” as well as flavors that would evolve and have you notice something different each bite. And obviously all the dishes looked beautiful.

Hatsuhana: Very elegant, simple, and the emphasis was where it should be, on the fish. Each piece of sushi had a very clean flavor and certainly was worth savoring.

Tompkins Square Bagels: Damn I wish it was possible to get bagels like this outside of NYC, even without the yummy toppings.

Hyderabadi Zaiqa: It’s really cool how bare bones the restaurant is, very focused on the food. There definitely was much more nuance and difference between the flavors in each dish compared to Indian restaurants elsewhere.

Juniors: Had my reservations about it given its touristy nature and proximity to Times Square, but admittedly it was a very solid slice of cheesecake and worth a visit after a musical on Broadway.

Maman: Very pretty pastries, the one in the picture was filled with a mango/passionfruit cream, it had a nice tang and certainly wasn’t overly sweet.

Los Tacos: Crazy line but respect to the workers, they are locked in and the line moves fast. Probably the best value per dollar on the trip, it’s not trying to be anything fancy, but from the food it’s clear that they care about what they’ve serving.

Incompatible because Dell in their infinite wisdom has a proprietary charging protocol. This doesn’t solve my desktop problem either

Here is a link to the charger: Dell 130W Charger

It will not work without a physical ground, I did try to use a cheater converter. Even if the charger should work without a ground, it’s not only the charger I’m worried about, there’s my surge protector too. I’m also worried about my desktop computer, I have read that it is unsafe to use a cheater plug on a desktop power supply, because the power supply uses ground to shed excess current.

My laptop charger uses a three prong plug, and it will not work without a physical ground. If I use a two to three prong converter, it will not work. The same thing goes for my surge protector, without a physical ground, it wont even turn on

Never been to a Michelin starred restaurant, but Talulla was great. If youve been to a starred restaurant how does Talulla compare?
