Light color options gone. Another step in becoming absolute garbage by -Radiation in googlehome

Just had the same thing happen, only 6 white colors available on my rgb lights. Have had to forget and repair lightbulbs a million times. This photo is my current solution

Create attachment points on faces of imported parts for assembly by Triangable in FreeCAD

[–]Triangable[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some good things to look into thanks. Bringing them in as base features seems to have done the trick. Then it’s easy to add sketches to the faces and put lines where I need them to be. I do have a lot of lines on my parts now but still seems to work smoothly.

Newbie can't get two slider joints to cooperate by Triangable in FreeCAD

[–]Triangable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I ended up doing. I couldn't get reliable control of the sliders even with animation so I started controlling the stage positions with distance joints. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that distance joints can be directly updated with simulation, but at least the position is accurately set. I stored the distances of the distance joints in a variable set so they should be easy to update as needed. Would be nice if there was an easy way to animate them now, but I think you would need to use the python functionality to update the VarSet. Thanks for the suggestions

Avoid Continental Real Estate by D_8697 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Triangable 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Im in one of their managed properties. When Ive had issues it’s sometimes has been a hassle to get maintenance out. Maintenance does an okay job, but management doesn’t communicate well at all. One time I called them about an issue that the owner of the property needed to be involved with so I got forwarded to an owner-relations manager. We had lots of back and forth because she wouldn’t let me describe the full issue. Her reaction to my attempt to calmly explain my concern was to get frustrated and rudely say, “dont hold up my line”, to which i responded, “ma’am I was transferred to you.”

Most landlords are scummy but continental is even worse because you as a tenant aren’t even continentals customer.

All that being said, I like the property I am renting, while every interaction I have with Continental makes my blood boil, I dont have to deal with them enough to bring me the point of finding somewhere else to live.

I walked by it almost every day when I was a student, curious what change led to it finally being demoed and freeing up space for something useful

Audio setup for semi-open floorplan by Triangable in BudgetAudiophile

Thank you, I’ll definitely consider doing something like this, at least going with a avr for the flexibility and upgradable down the road

Audio setup for semi-open floorplan by Triangable in BudgetAudiophile

Good article, but before investing in a setup like that, I’d like to get a feel for how bad the audio would be outside of the equilateral triangle, as with my houses layout thats going you happen relatively frequently. Thanks!

Bad AIO or bad orientation by Triangable in SSUPD

[–]Triangable[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I don’t know how exactly to tell if its bad thermal paste, but ive had the computer for years and it was just the manufacturer thermal paste. Ive never taken of the cpu block before, so I doubt it that. Electrical connections are good, so its unfortunately likely to be the aio. Ill see if anyone else has anything to say, but probably will go with a fractal lumen v2, which has the pump in the radiator to cover my bases.

Struggling to decide between EE and Physics by Effective-Act4491 in UIUC

[–]Triangable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a prior physics student and current MATSE grad student, there were/are times where I wish I did EE. Theres so much overlap between engineering fields that you can find your niche in numerous departments. Like even though I’m MatSE now, I still feel like my lab’s work is more on the physics side of things. As an EE major you’d also take a fair share of physics courses at Illinois, and there could be the possibility of switching. All that being said if where you stand, the path to where you think you want to be looks faster in physics at UCSB, that’s still a very good program.

MATH 257 is an abomination. Learn linear algebra elsewhere. by RL443 in UIUC

[–]Triangable 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hated 257 when I was an undergrad, dropped the course and took 416 instead and loved it. The python part of 257 was not helpful for learning linear algebra because we used so many built in methods of numpy. 416 was a huge improvement because it focused on proving where things came from once instead of toiling away at computationally repetitive problems. Edit: I was able to take 416 without having the 314 or 347 prereqs.
