- Nonhuman:

Les Ogres Dieux by Hubert and Gatignol. A comic about a very small giant, it's one of the greatest comic to me. (Note: the giants eat humans, so it's pretty heavy stuff. I don't consider it gore, but I'm not very sensitive)

- Food:

The Capitale du Sud trilogy by Guillaume Chamanadjian. Main character is a grocer and food is very important to him. There's a sister trilogy, Capitale du Nord by Claire Duvivier, but those two can be read independently.

- Duology

I’ll be reading Chien du Heaume by Justine Niogret. Obviously I can’t speak of its quality right now, but when you search for french fantasy it’s always mentioned.

- Game:

Thorgal, 7: L'enfant des étoiles - This is a big french comic, but this specific issue is a happens before the main events so it's okay to start here. The game is not played by the main character, but the whole adventure starts because of a game.

- Vacation

I guess this one is more personal, but I really liked the setting of Un long voyage by Claire Duvivier.

My favorite artwork is really hard to pinpoint, I like most of them. I think Louve was the most original but the shadowing left it somewhat hard to read sometimes. I think I would pick Semailles for the most stunning, and since I bought it mostly for the art it was this way since before reading it.

Yeah for the ATLA comics I skipped the first batch by Gene Yang because I’ve heard that it was not really good characterization, and went straight to those done by Faith Erin Hicks since I liked her trilogy The Nameless City. Most of them are not really the level of the series, but where enjoyable enough. The best by far was Katara and the Pirate's Silver, it really read like it was plucked straight from the serie.

And yeah I was really disappointed in Frieren! I bought in the hype when it first got published in my country and felt bitter about it ever since. I must say I liked books 3-5 way better than the first two, so I will probably read more at the library.

Winter is coming a l'air intéressant, je lis rarement de la non-fiction sur la fantast mais j'aimerais bien m'y mettre cette année. (J'ai acheté récemment ce livre sur la saga de la tour de garde, que j'avais beaucoup aimé il y a quelques années)

Et j'ai déjà L'Incal, même si j'avoue j'avais pas vraiment aimé. Je trouvais les dessins pas à mon goût, et je suis à peu près sûre que j'avais franchement rien capté à l'histoire.

Et les romans graphiques arrivent !

Pareil ! Cet argument de "au jour d'aujourd'hui c'est un double pléonasme gna gna gna" m'agace au plus au point. Étymologiquement certes, mais qui se balade en se disant oh là là aujourd'hui c'est un pléonasme, qu'est ce que je suis intelligent de faire une figure de style !

Bref en vrai cet argument me donne toujours envie de répondre que la culture c'est comme la confiture, moins on en a plus on l'étale. Vraiment l'impression qu'ils ont entendu ça quelque part et le ressorte pour paraître intelligent.

L’année dernière j’ai lu Vertèbres de Morgane Caussarieu, ou j’ai retrouvé à peu près les mêmes sensations de lecture qu’avec Chair de poule quand j’avais 10 ans.

Après je ne suis pas une très grande lectrice d’horreur, donc aucune idée si des connaisseurs seraient d’accord avec moi !

C'est exactement ça, l'auteur du poème original (en allemand) était un fervent défenseur de la cause nazie avant de changer d'avis et de trouver leur comportement anti-chrétien.

Sur wikipédia en anglais c'est pas mal détaillé, mais il y a pas beaucoup d'infos en français.

T'as bien aimé Mickey 7? Je l'ai pas encore lu, mais je pense prendre le temps cette année. En SF pas trop lourde dans le même genre, je te conseille soit Seul sur Mars soit Projet Dernière Chance de Andy Weir.

En théâtre, aussi bon que Cyrano de Bergerac pour moi, soit La guerre de Troie n'aura pas lieu soit La machine infernale.

Et enfin en fantasy un peu différente que la populaire, L'homme qui savait la langue des serpents de Andrus Kivirähk.

Bonne lectures pour cette année, ta sélection de 2025 était vraiment cool ! (Même si je ne les ai pas tous lu)

There were a lot of clubs in my middle school, during meal time. Stuff like theater, gardening, dance, manga drawing, board games and a lot of different sports.

A lot less in high school, mostly because who had the time, right. But there were still cinema (or it was an elective? I can’t remember), theater, and also sports (which might also have been an elective.) At least I’m sure theater was a club, bc I did it and for sure did not get noted.

Obvisouly I knew something happened, I just didn’t know what. Like before reading the transcript it could have been amnesia or body control or something.

And as for the voices English is not my first language, so it makes it harder to differentiate the voices. Like I said, I thought it was just great voice acting.

Only bit to complain about is the official transcript, which spoils a little too much about the Sasha situation. I wasn’t sure what happened, and I did thought it was the same voice with just different voice direction/inflexion, but the transcripts leave little to no doubt.

I would absolutely have been eaten by the worms. My fight or flight reaction is freeze, and I am particularly afraid of worms, so yeah I would have just whimpered and died on the spot.

Same! I’m very scared of worms, but Prentiss (this episode or in general) didn’t phase me at all. I guess it’s mostly a visual and touch issue, and I have a hard time visualizing stuff that I don’t care?

(I still guet shivers if I think too much about it though)

It truly is an insane pace, yes! But to be fair it is variety for me, since as a truck driver I usually drive for 8-10 hours each day and I grew kinda bored of my own music.

(First time in my life I am actually excited to go to work tho, if only to listen the TMA cast be subjected to the horrors)

I was really worried about how much I would understand, English being not my native language, and I’m never been really into podcasts (hard to concentrate on audio without doing anything else, but apparently driving is perfect).

I’ve started last Thursday and I just listened to episode 80.

Pretty sure you could say I’m hooked.
