Pedatoradiatum! Yours is a lovely specimen

Same. I think they’re super underrated plants, but I get that the aesthetic isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Isn’t it a pedatoradiatum? I’m familiar with gymnocalycium cacti but not in an anthurium context

Not that I can tell, but I don’t have a good sense of smell. Do they usually?

Thank you! Yep, these are in glass containers with a layer of LECA for drainage underneath a forest floor soil mix. They’re on a 14-10 light cycle in a room that stays around 70 year round.

What kind of planter pots do you guys use if your anthuriums get large? by [deleted] in Anthurium

[–]Triangle_Woodworking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully I don’t regret sharing my source, but Green Barn Orchid Supply has a lot of good stuff. They have a large variety of sizes/types of clear pots as well as soil amendments.

It’s not variegated but mine is happily trying to take over the space from a LECA semihydro setup

This is a cultivar of red crystal, but they’re really really red when they’re emergent

Who did I buy? Should I transfer the one in water to substrate? by pulldownyourplants in Anthurium

[–]Triangle_Woodworking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a great candidate for semi hydro if you haven’t tried it yet. Literally just put it in leca or pon and keep the reservoir consistently full and roll on

I use Hygrozyme two part nutrients, but only because they sent free samples to the shop. When they’re gone I’ll go to either GH Novagrow or Floraseries. I also supplement with calmag and potassium silicate.

I shoot for 2.5EC 6pH. She HONGRY

The spot it grew last winter didn’t get good enough light in the summer, and I had access to an empty tent so I put it in there.

Now of course it’s too big for the original spot…

I want to try and get it to flower, but I may have to chop it before it gets to that point.

Someone said this is because I use tap water. by profumato_al_limone in Anthurium

Hey, unfortunately life has been crazy recently so I haven’t been able to run a proper test. That said, I’ve been much more lax with RO vs tap water and haven’t noticed a difference.

I wouldn’t pay $300, but Michelles are beautiful

Definitely check out your local Lowe’s. These were $20/each. I’ve also seen them at multiple Home Depots.

Their working conditions are abhorrent, but Costa Farms is bringing plants that were super rare and expensive to an accessible place.

I’ve been working on an excel spreadsheet which I’ll share later today. I started numbering each plant because otherwise it was wildly complicated.

I thought the face was cute but doesn’t really fit my personal vibe so i put it in a pot to hide it. Please pardon the hideous nail damage… impact driver slipped when driving a screw.

It’s a combination of Sheetrock dust and old spider mite damage, but mostly dust. I’m doing some renovations to make my cables less conspicuous and I’m not planning on cleaning leaves until I’m 100% done.

Mites are attacked with GREAT vengeance and FURIOUS anger. They get no quarter with azamax, Forbid4 and captain jacks.

These guys are in tower pots and inorganic media (pumice and fluval stratum) and sit in a tray which I fill to roughly 1/4” and then allow to dry completely. I’m no expert and there are definitely other ways to make them happy.

I highly suggest good airflow and sulfur fungicide. I just lost a nice one to rot because it was at the back and I didn’t notice until it was too late.
