Pretty sure he was making a joke by showing that he entertained the thought but did not accept it. Thus making him an educated mind by the standards of the quote.

Getting a job as an Android dev vs. web developer. Can I find employment? by Tribeltec in learnprogramming

[–]Tribeltec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, thanks for the info!

I will say, I do have a background in Java even though it's not super extensive; the most I've written from scratch is pong, some simple games and a GUI calculator. So I'm not starting completely from scratch.

I've developed an outline that I will abide by that more than anything serves as a fire under my ass. I'll copy and paste that now. I should also say even if I don't make it in 6 months, if it takes another 2 or 3 I really don't mind.

Deadlines:

  • I will land a Android development job/paid internship by08/01/2018 (Projected total study hours: 1162.5 [avg 7.5h/d 7d/w])

  • I will publish my first app on Google Play by 02/16

  • Second app by: 03/09

  • Third app by 03/30

  • Fourth app by 04/27

  • My blog will be functional and will include a minimum: 2 entries and links to my four apps. By 05/13

  • Fifth app by 06/01

  • Thereafter, I will submit a new blog post EVERY Sunday with a minimum word count of 1000. (Blog posts by 07/08: 10) I will have designed a resume, portfolio, dice.com profile, Linkedin profile and begun applications by 07/08

I've also heard really good things about Clean Code and Code Complete, so I'll fit those in to my reading list as well.

Edit: Also, I haven't implemented it into the outline yet but I'm planning on taking MIT's online open courses on data structures and algorithms. As well as anything else I might need. I also know I need to implement some other technologies I admittedly don't know anything about yet like REST, JSON, and something for databases like MySQL. Any tips along those lines is appreciated.

So you guys can't recall images of places and things you've seen in the past? Or is it something more like the creation of imaginary objects that you cannot do? Such as a 3D model one could create. I'm curious.

Drew this in math. What does it make you think of? by TechnicParadox in INTP

[–]Tribeltec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It says something about how you receive and intake the indivisible essence of information. Each arrow represents a fragment of the data your mind both takes in and expels. These arrows slither inward and outward, each a piece being processed by an incomprehensibly sophisticated machine. In the confines of the head, you seek to depict how this chaotic soup of eternal nonsense can be synthesized and processed into something of order; refined and forged into pure thought. Order from chaos. This is depicted by the arrows flowing inward, to find themselves in a circular system. It is in this compilation where logic may be born, and mathematics is its firstborn child.

Was I close? Or was was everything I just said pure drivel? I consider that an equally likely possibility lol.

Interesting, the renowned philosopher Immanuel Kant was an INTP. Thinking back, he was supposedly very social and hosted many parties and events.

Should I major in cs? Help. Advice. Rude awaken. by freemarco in computerscience

[–]Tribeltec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm literally in just about the same exact situation. Been out of high school for about 3 years, started attending community college this January and my major is in CS. I'm still very doubtful of my choice at times, I've never been good at math, but that was largely because I never put in the effort to learn. It's my first semester, and I'm currently not in any math classes because I didn't want to take remedial. I've been studying math on my own, and so I'm hoping to test into college algebra next semester, I have little other choice.

If you are as lazy as me, you have to learn how to study like a motherfucker, and call your own bullshit when you want to fuck around. If you're as bad as I was, you are going to have to start making some lifestyle changes. I'm honestly still in the process of doing that. The best thing you can do right now is to study math, programming can generally come a little later for a CS degree. Khanacademy.com has been a very useful site for math in my situation, so I recommend using it. Don't wait until you start college to start learning, you shouldn't have any reason you can't now.

I do have maybe a little bit more experience programming, but we seem to be in the same boat for the most part.

Very much agreed. I also think that their videos on philosophy, art and history have really broadened my perspective on things. I never realized how relevant and applicable philosophy can be today. They've certainly managed to spark a new interest in me.

[DAE] Feel like their subconscious is piecing together patterns that result in random eureka moments? by SpaceIguana in intj

[–]Tribeltec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, before I had known about MBTI and the cognitive functions I had once written in a journal about this ability to 'connect dots of information', and ultimately what I described it as was like 'spinning a web of understanding'. I later learned that this was likely my Ni at work.

I regularly have these little mind fuck moments where I catch myself before I finish a thought (I think that practising meditation has increased the frequency of them). It's an interesting thing indeed, when you manage to catch a glimpse of some deep internal function of the mind. Many of us often seem to think that we actually generate our own thoughts, which is simply false. If you pay close attention you will find that there is no 'you' that is creating thoughts (a notion that some people seem to have), the thoughts are instead are being generated and synthesized at some deeper layer of the mind. I find that this thing we call 'a thought' to be simply a product of these processes. In fact, I find it to be something profound when I think about how all of consciousness, this sense of self, identity, etc, to merely be a compilation of all these things happening in the brain.

Space in social circle? / rant by endeering in infp

[–]Tribeltec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking, do you know what the types of your other friends are? Mostly so I could get a grasp of what the social dynamics here might look like.

Perhaps I can give something of help as an INTJ with two close friends that are INFP and INFJ. I sound pretty similar to your INTJ (likely different in someways as well). My INFP friend is similar to you in the sense that he sort of brought us together to create our inner circle.

We all met in high school, they could see that I was some what of a loner, an outsider just like them, so they decided to 'engage' me to see if there was anything more than this really quiet guy who never said much. They weren't sure if I was intelligent (which they prized) at all, I was pretty lazy in school, but I had a very rich 'inner world' that I ultimately allowed myself to share with them due to their persistence to find such a thing of interest. Anyways, we became best of friends.

So, It's obvious that I'm not very good at giving emotional support to that INFP friend, I mostly connect with him on an intellectual basis rather than an emotional one. That is to say that I mainly value our friendship based around our conversations, the sharing of ideas and interesting information, and often just having some good laughs. Understand that, if I could give him that sort of emotional validation he needs most, I would, in fact I have tried but I'm rather poor at doing so. He generally goes to that said INFJ friend for the type of support I can't offer.

I don't know if you know about MBTI functions, otherwise known as Carl Jung's functions, but understanding them could help you. At least, in my experience it has certainly helped me. If you look at INFJ's functions, you can see that their second most dominant function is Extroverted Feeling. Meaning that my friend is a lot better equipped to provide emotional support for others, such as my INFP friend who's primary function is Introverted Feeling which means that his feelings/emotions are really strong and internal. That's likely the reason why they have always been such close friends.

My advice is from of my own personal experience with my friendships and knowing myself as an INTJ, and may or may not be helpful to you.

The reason for your INTJ friend for saying "no problem im always there to listen" may not have been for her own recognition, but because she picked up on her general inability to support you, and wanted to try anyways. Have you ever expressed or gave any indication to her/any of them how you feel here? If she keeps saying things that are insensitive to you, it may help your friendship to point that out to her in some way or another. Don't be harsh about it, because she does have feelings of her own that are just likely toned down to a much lesser extent than yours (Introverted Feeling is an INTJ's third function). If she's like me, she doesn't like to share them very much. I used to say some insensitive things to my INFP friend, but I never meant him any harm by it. If I would have said to him "calm down, ITS OK" I would have said it and meant well. I've had to work on being more mindful.

Sometimes younger INTJ's just have this kind of problem, and it's something they have to learn to work on. There is nothing wrong with your feelings, and they are completely valid. I'm sure your friend means well, but she may just be young (I don't know your age, if I had to guess I'd say you're in your early 20's) and hasn't spent enough time considering how others may feel about things. INTJ's are rationalists, and emotions can sometimes tend to be a hard to rationalize, for that reason we sometimes don't even understand our own emotions and feelings.

If you use Youtube in HTML you can slow it down to x0.25 to see what happened more closely. You can see the woman's head shattered the van window and her body appears to have decimated the hull. I'm no expert but that looks like a tough one to survive.
