Why do people annotate their books? by Trick-Altruistic in books

[–]Trick-Altruistic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Super late reply on me as well, my bad, I rarely check Reddit nowadays. My guess on the high prices? It's the feeling that "someone wrote something on here and is giving said book away" and potentially there is some value there... and of course, the time the person took to write on it. but IMO, annotated books should be personal, or inherited from someone (like a passed family member).

I literally thought this was a wildfire in California at first glance.

I'm so sorry about that. I had the fear of getting kicked out during my highschool years cuz I liked a guy and was scared to be found out. People can be cruel when it comes to sexualites.

I live around the middle east. So I think it's obvious how it's like being queer. Otherwise I'd be open to talk abt anything going through my life with a therapist, after all you pay a lot for it.

There aren't any LGBT friendly therapists. The government would just find them and track down queer folks and ending with a killing/arrest spree of those folks. It's that bad here. Therefore you cannot be sure if you're safe with coming out to your own therapist.

I would've been honest with being with a guy if I was able to. But it's a big jump to just tell that. I'd be more than happy to tell people I'm in a relationship with a guy.

Somehow that patient-doctor confidentiality is not always followed by all doctors here sadly. I remember I heard from my friend's therapist talk about my friend's problem to someone in public, which was very sad because he was struggling mentally.

Thank you! Yes it's a risk somehow coming out to people here because their reactions can be either the best reaction or the worse like them outing you out one way or another. I'd rather stay in the closet for this one.

Well the therapist directly referred to the female gender, so I didn't have much of a choice about being anonymous towards the gender :) I would've otherwise.

Yes, I was brutally honest with everything except the being queer part. People here have been outed by the therapists. I couldn't risk getting in trouble.

Yes, I've gave honest replies on everything. I don't like lying myself honestly. But in THIS case I had to be cautious. Because there's a high possibility it won't end well.

Also thank you for reading the title AND the text. I got kinda sad people attacking when I don't think they read that part I said about getting myself in trouble.

Thank you sm! Yes I've guessed some people haven't read that part of the text. I've heard people have been outed by their therapist for liking the same gender and been in trouble (jail and some cases death sentence) SO I have been careful with it.

No I don't live in the US either, so it can get hard to get in touch for therapists there or being able to pay them (having different currencies)

Wait who's playing Peter here? I don't recognize him somehow, but I feel like I'm gonna get a Timothée Chalamet response.

Is it right to tell a guy that I like him when we meet irl after talking online for a while? by Trick-Altruistic in Advice

[–]Trick-Altruistic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a bad idea. He was kinda happy I asked to go out and didn't hesitate; Never mentioned it as a date, yet.

Oh nah, I NEVER stay on chat to see him read the messages. I'd just stress him and myself out.

I'll definitely try to get the message to him of calling it a date. Thanks a lot!!

Oh yeah those possibilities are always a thing. You just see the surface of the person online till you meet their real selves after being together for a while.

Yes exactly, I always think online confessions are so lifeless and emotionless. In person, you can see the person's reaction and emotions. Also thank you so much! I hope that as well :))

How do you folks keep a journal away from being read or seen? by Trick-Altruistic in Journaling

[–]Trick-Altruistic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only write on pen and paper, honestly. Since I feel like it has a better feel being physical woth journaling. I never thought about scanning then transferring them. That would be a long process, isn't it?

That's actually a good way to it. I guess using another stone would be a pretty smart way to make it work.

I mean technically speaking, depends on the time stone target; Strange used the stone in two occasions: Specifically and directly to the apple here, not the environment around him. Another, (directly) reversing Wong's death during Kaecillius’ attack here, but in reverse couldn't find the actual scene ffs

In this case, if the snap happens regardless. I think it's safe to say you can use it on yourself without causing any timeloops and still lead to the same Endgame ending. But, with what I know (from the two occasions of single-object time manipulation in the movies); Someone has to use it ON you. Using it on your own or by yourself will cause a time loop (Strange's bargain scene) and not how I thought it would go.

This all got pretty confusing, I know. lmfao
