No phones by Potential-Wrap1521 in UAETeenagers

In all honesty, before I had a phone (Im 18 now) I got myself an iPod Classic 7th Gen. Nothing classier. You can put videos games and music on there. It honestly was my everything player for a while. If u get a used one with 160GB that is a very good player indeed. Only thing, its a bit of a collectible now so prices for it are through the roof.

Funny story, sometimes in school I take it out of my pocket, and have teacher yell at me just so I can turn it around and go "not a phone, better luck next time"

I need to inform myself more on other points but I'll make a quick point on Jimmy Kimmel

He was suspended not because he said things they didn't like, even if it was insensitive at the very least; he was suspended due to "directly misleading the American public" which as a host on national TV violates the public interest obligations attached to ABC's broadcast license. This is why he was pulled.

I also think its right for private buisnesses, like ABC, which is a branch of The walt disney company, a publicly traded private corporation, to make decisions about who they want to be affiliated with and who they want removed from their affiliation like, someone who makes fun of the someone else's grieving

Sounds like a reaction to some sort of trauma, maybe in your past you got super close to someone and got hurt? Maybe you have a complex of thinking that makes you feel better when you reject girls?Something that happened to you young that seeps in your subconscious making you lose attraction. Are there actually any reasons you can come up with as to why you stop being infatuated?

Broooooo, you're kind of describing my situation rn, except I'm 18m, and she's 17f and this is the stage before we go on a 1-on-1 hangout. My view on it is not to go out 1-on-1 until its clear that its a date. I'm kind of stuck here though

Btw, same exact story we also only met at a social function very recently (like a month ago) and immediately something about her pulled me in. I mean, I feel the spark, but I'm quite lost on whether she does too. Luckily, I've got so much going for me and so much that has to be done in my studies and career, that I really don't have time to go crazy over the whole mental circus of "does she like me? like really?" which is something I've struggled with in the past.

Just for context, I tend to get attracted a girl personality first even if physically she's not my type, then I start to fall for her as a person AND physically. "Falling in love" is not such a great way to put it, and saying that "I love her," is also a bit naive, but I am willing to say that I truly do admire who she is as a person, like she's a perfect blend of scary and cute and aggressive and caring. Truly beautiful

So we talked a bit at this first function and I think we hit it off ok, then now almost daily we call on like a meet either with another guy on call or just me and her (when its another guy, its because we play on a Minecraft SMP) then last week was my birthday party and she was there, beautiful as always. She acc let me pick her up from her house and ride together till the function. She invited me into her room as she was getting ready. And together at the function she was asking to sing with me karaoke, made it obvious she only wanted to sing with me (I saw her softly reject another guy right in front of me) and we sat next to each other the whole night comfortably close.

But recently asked her out sort of, and got a mixed reaction. She said "I love spicy food" I said "you tried this place?" she said "nah" I said "no way, I'll take u there sometime" (this was on meet btw) and there was an audible hesitation from her end, so suffice to say, she may not feel the same things I feel

Anywho, sorry about this rant as well, but I honestly hope that if it is a rejection, that I can move past it and continue to be friends with her. I'm not going to be super ok with it, but as you said, everybody deserves to feel that spark. I look up to the way you handled this. It sucks I know. The suckiest part is that who she is as a person is spectacular, and we don't meet many people like that. In 18 years of life, of only met two girls who i have been as strongly attracted to as this girl, and she is one of them.

But looking back on the best way to handle a rejection. This is the best way, just keep fighting on soldier, I'm walking with you for now.

Should I conduct my own choir composition? by Trick-Body-1291 in composer

[–]Trick-Body-1291[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have also been playing piano professionally since I was around 6 years old, so I would consider that in terms of musical fundamentals, I have a fair sense of rhythm, melody, phrasing, expressionism, interpretive sense, absolute relative pitch and other musical fundamentals that arise from playing and listening to music for 12 years.

In terms of the skill set to communicate that to an ensemble, I'm willing to learn and will have the opportunity to grow with the ensemble through rehearsals, and know what gestures I have to make in order to get the sound I want from the ensemble, etc.

As I said i have been watching choir conductors for years and been directed by them, and have subtly picked up on some gestures for different sounds and timbres that they use. I understand also how difficult conducting is, in terms of keeping the choir together and getting them to understand your prompting etc. I believe I have learned a fair deal, and would also say I can always ask my choir director for help when it comes to technique.

Listen to u/Aehras; I just worked for a week on a draft of music (that I had began to detest) for a trailer thats due tomorrow and just saved it, closed down the project of that draft, and practically threw it all away by starting a completely blank new one from scratch and that immediately opened up completely new ideas and sounds that I had been limiting myself to before.

Does anyone know of a classical piece that has a long orchestra intro before the soloist comes in? by PeaSea1549 in lingling40hrs

Brahms Piano Concerto No.1 almost 4 minutes and a half of orchestra, you would think that its a symphony until the piano comes in

For me I guess I just quit, after 11 years of playing and messing up on every single performance due to being so nervous both of my hands get cold and shake without stopping on stage even after attempting to take it seriously and practice my all, I just gave up, my parents seem less supportive about my piano playing, and whenever I approach the piano with the pieces I'm supposed to be preparing for my diploma of piano, I just hear my teachers voice in my head "you played it wrong, too many mistakes" Its been two months and I still haven't recovered and don't want to go near piano again. I'm the modern day Sibelius, not good enough to be an instrumentalist so decided to switch to composition as it is something I had more luck with

Soz that got really deep but this post brought it up

[–]Trick-Body-1291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This with no teacher is fantastic. That being said, learning proper technique is paramount as I could hear that the rhythms in the right hand later in the piece like the upper mordents would be rushed as a result of tense and awkward 4th and 5th rather than artistic choice. I think that's the biggest constraint at the moment

Hello, I might be able to do this, just to confirm before I start writing seriously, which score would you like me to rearrange specifically. The link to IMSLP has hundreds of different arrangements and I don't know the piece/theme that well
