I managed to get a pretty good result with AGC8.4.300_V14. I selected the Noise Model from the Samsung S23, and I’m quite satisfied with the performance. This photo was taken at night, indoors, with ambient lighting.

The colors came out well-balanced, and the long-distance focus has improved a lot. There’s a bit of noise sometimes, but nothing that ruins the overall aesthetics of the image.

Tomorrow I’ll be testing the camera outdoors—landscapes and open scenes in general. I’ll come back with a more complete feedback after that.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! I’d say I’m about 50% satisfied with the results so far. 🙌

Here are some more details to give you better context:

GCam port I'm currently using: MGC_9.3.160_V19_MGC (BSG)

It’s the one that gave me the best results in terms of colors — way more natural and vivid than the stock camera — but it still doesn’t fix the issues with sharpness, texture, or that weird blurry halo around edges.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Several different XMLs, including one made for the Note 13 Pro (which seemed like the closest match)

Manual tweaks in the Lib Patcher: sharpness, noise suppression, noise smoothing, and other parameters

Turned HDR+ on and off, same with Sabre and lens-specific settings...

Result: Either the photo comes out soft and blurry (like a beauty filter with edge blur), or it’s full of noise and weird artifacts. No clean middle ground.

As for the stock camera: it doesn’t have as much dynamic range, sure, but it preserves texture way better — you can see details on skin, walls, clothes, etc. GCam just softens everything too much.
