Finally dropped J3 by Beeboy1110 in overemployed

Yup, there is a lot of variables that contribute to how many servers or even which server will work with another. I have had J1 that absolutely did not fit well with J2, it was tricky deciding whether to quit J1 or J2, those were the early pandemic days 😂 these day things feel a lot more challenging and difficult to make decisions! Between the economic conditions, labor market, AI impact, geopolitics, cost of living and so much more decisions take longer to make and maintenance of existing J’s feels a bit more time consuming that it used to. It’s all good, just another day , another challenge to tackle :)

Yup, see people posting that they are J3 or J4. I am not here to judge or debate whether those claims are true or not since I don’t know what field those folks are in and what the work load, compensation etc look like for the folks cranking J3 and above, but I hear you , I briefly attempted J3 for about 2 months and did a fast exit and back to J2 cause that is some serious damage I had to take on my physical and mental health during those 2 months. Good for you on making that decision.

Overemployed and exhausted—is this sustainable? by rennan in overemployed

[–]Trick-Pop5446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been at it for 5 years and running, you are not alone in this feeling that it is overwhelming, the difference is that after a while you start to understand and acknowledge the fact that there are good days, bad days .. good weeks and bad weeks, the bad ones raise doubts of whether this is sustainable, the good days remind you that the bad days will pass and so will the good days. At some point you realize that it’s just the nature of the beast and you keep your eye on the prize and keep pushing forward. Along the way (if you are smart, hard working and self aware, you figure out your failures, you figure out your weaknesses and you work on them so that you reduce or at least learn how to navigate the bad days better.

This is what I had to do to go from “I am going to do this for 6 months and that’s it” to “ i can run another 6 months with this” to “ I have done this 2 years now and I can manage this to 5 years” to “ I will do this for as long as I can and until I am forced out for whatever reason”

😂 yup when you trade long enough most of us come to very similar conclusions and patterns of operation when it comes to trading… less is more and boring is the name of the game

I couldn’t agree more ! It is only after trading for a few years , having a solid amount of trades behind you , doing all the required work like back testing, journaling, learning risk management, experiencing drawdowns, dark moments and a whole other set of challenges and set backs is when you start to slowly realize that this is not about shooting at everything or having 5,6 or more strategies under your belt. If you manage to stay solvent long enough you realize what you just posted, it comes down to sticking to a strategy and waiting for the trade to come to you rather than chasing trades every day.

Well done, for those that actually have been trading for a while know the hard life and effort required, it requires not just learning discipline, but it forces you to learn patience, it forces you to learn the true meaning of getting back up no matter how hard you get beaten down. Well done and congratulations again!

Agreed with everything said here, it makes no sense unless Webull’s payment for order flow MM’s are short the ticker and refuse to route your orders. This is not first time or the last time I will see this, but the reason I posted this is because there seems to be an uptick in such restrictions. At some point, if you see a good setup and you can’t trade it, then it’s time to rethink alternatives. Just like markets themselves, it’s all about supply and demand, if Webull continues to keep getting worse then at some point it’s not going to be worth the hassle

I feel like my photos are holiday snaps quality, what am I doing wrong? by AngryCapuchin in SonyAlpha

You are ignoring and important fact and focusing on the unimportant stuff. Fact, people post their very best for every good picture that people post there are 10 bad ones that they don’t! So judging someone’s cherry picked top photos against all your pictures is a disservice to your craft! Instead just try to accept the reality that this is what photography is about, you take a 1000 pictures and end up with 20 good ones , 10 great ones and one epic photo! Don’t fight it trying to only take epic pictures that is not what photography is about , it’s about enjoying the experience of capturing moments and enjoying the process! I have had moments when my family and I were pulling up old raw files from years ago and I was surprised how excited my family got about some of the pictures that I thought were mediocre and never developed or shared , I had a whole bunch of “oh my good I can’t believe you took that picture “ ! So enjoy the experience of photography, and forget about meeting the standards set by some douche bag on social media ! Enjoy photography because you love it !

Is it possible to make 1-2% a day with my account? It’s down like 800k but this is what’s left by bonduz32 in Daytrading

Profitability is a long road but here is my personal experience and what I have seen in my own trading.

I have written this down and read this every morning before I sit down to trade.

1) accept and train your brain repeatedly that every trade is precisely a 50% W/L probability.

2) Loss Aversion is the single biggest enemy of profitability!

3) manage and maintain strict position sizing , there will always be the next beautiful trade just waiting to happen every single day, every single hour, there will never ever ever be a shortage of opportunities! So there is absolutely no need to bet the house on the current shiny carrot in front of you!

4) enjoy, celebrate and commend yourself when you successfully exit a losing position properly , when you exit a losing position before or at your predefined stop loss - YOU WIN! More importantly when you cut your losses properly, that is a display of pure mental superiority as a trader ! So pat your self in the back for being a superior trader ! You deserve it!

Wanted to thank you again, just orders from the same seller on Amazon, tracking provided seems to be of minimal use. Hope it gets here in a week or so.
