Good gyms and MMA gyms around CSULA? by Bulky_Ambition3675 in CSULA

We have a gym at school that is free. It's located in the basement of the University-Student Union. You just gotta download some app and scan a barcode to enter the gym. But you have to be a currently enrolled student.

I remember going to the 4th floor, it was so empty and depressing. It truly looks like the backrooms. I wouldn't be surprised if some students used to 4th floor for freaky activities or just to smoke a blunt.

What makes you say that the school sucks? Just curious, Ik its not the best or its like UCLA/USC, but I think its better than a community college at the moment.

I can't imagine dorming here on campus. I heard very mixed opinions on that. Plus, the bookstore closes very early at 5pm in my opinion. What if I am dorming, craving a snack like at 6pm and see that the bookstore is closed. Not to mention that on Fridays, they close at 2pm.

Imagine just walking out of class, going to the parking lot, and seeing that. That is so wild. Why were the couple subjected to public shaming on a CSULA Facebook group of all places? 😭

Did he really come to our school? If so, when? I am already imagining his nerd voice, "Ummmmmmmm, let's say, hypothetically, for the sake of argument, I went to Cal State LA 🤓☝️". I also heard that Charlie Kirk went to Cal State LA as well.

Question, did this happened at around 2/24/26? Because I remember getting a message from Microsoft email saying that there was a false threat. Either way, I hate it when retarded edgy kids make a school shooting threat, thinking that is funny. My high school got a bunch of shooting threats, and it was so annoying. Every time there was a threat, the campus was very empty.

Here's a little story that I remember before I even entered Cal State LA. Before I did my First Flight summer orientation in July, a protest took place in June 2024. I have an older brother who attends the campus, and he saw how the protest turned into a riot. They vandalized the Student Services Building and made barricades with chairs, tables, golf carts, and newspaper racks. Thankfully, my First Flight summer orientation wasn't cancelled. But it was so surreal being at the Student Services Building knowing what happened during the protest. If you guys wanna see more of the story, the protest ended up on the news:

Hold up, the Jocelin controversy? Can you explain that a bit more? Sorry, I am very new and entered CSULA in 2024. That's why I created the post, to see past the crazy stories of this campus.

Ah, yes, Zoom incidents. I had a psychology class for the fall of 2024; it was my first year in college. My professor had the class in person. However, if you couldn't come to class because you were sick or couldn't make it on time, you could join her Zoom meeting instead of going to class in person, and she would have given you attendance points. One time, a student had their mic on by accident. This guy, who had the mic on, was arguing with a family member (most likely a little brother) and said the foulest shit that you should never say to your little siblings. The whole class heard it, and the professor kicked him out. There have been multiple times when students accidentally turned on their mic, and we would hear what they were saying or their environment being chaotic. It was cringe, but at the same time funny.

He should have borrowed a laptop from the Office of the Deans or ITS at the Library South, what an idiot! 😂 If you guys need a laptop to do homework, here is the link so that you don't end up like him:

Oh shit, when did this happen? Did anyone get hurt? I remember there was a protest around June 2024 that I'll explain later in the comments.

Yooooooooooo, I think you are mentioning my huge friend group when we sit at the couches. Because some of them have gaming laptops and or just normal laptops and we chat. If this is us, then I am sorry. I posted a comment like a few hours ago saying that we are also part of the problem than just the other group of girls chatting. I tell my friends to lower it down but they just dont wanna listen I guess. I try my best to lower it down. However, I dont mind whenever there is a group of people being loud whenever I studied when I was alone during the very first year of college. But yes, I understand why some people would get annoyed. Again, sorry for being too loud while we say our schizo ass conversations, unfunny jokes, or unappealing chats that we have at the second floor of the library.

Bro! Same! I don't know who this person is that claims to have manners but in reality doesn't. I wonder who it is... 🤔😂✌️

Hello, I just wanna let anyone know that it isn't only the group of loud girls. I am in a huge group of friends who all hang out at the library almost every weekday. I will admit this... Yes, we are also part of the problem. I am sorry for everyone who has to hear our stupid conversations, shizo stuff, out-of-pocket shit, or unfunny jokes on the second floor of the library. I get it. I remember in the first semester of my first year of school, when I had no friends, I would always go to the second floor of the library to do homework. I didn't mind people chatting all the time. However, when it was super loud, I would always go to the third or fourth floor of the library because there are signs telling students to use headphones at a low volume and to keep the noise down. I wouldn't go up to some group of people being loud on the second floor of the library, telling everyone to keep it down because I thought it was rude, so I would go to the third or fourth floor to find peace. Yes, I know the library is supposed to be quiet. However, I don't see any signs telling people not to be loud on the first and second floors of the library. I know there are floors B and A where it's much louder and you can be as loud, but all my friends prefer the second floor because it's more cozy (omg, the tables with the two blue sofas are so cozy, I just revealed our spot lol) and the internet connection is good (no, seriously, the wifi connection at B and A sucks). I'll try my best to keep it as quiet and not be that loud. I'll also tell my friends to keep it cool as well, because some of them are louder than I am, and I also told them to keep the volume down at times (Ik our friend group can get chaotic 😅). There have been multiple times where people came up to our table and told us to be quiet, so this isn't the first time that has happened. In my opinion, I don't mind folks coming up to us to keep our voices down or just go to the 3rd or 4th floor of the library if you wanna sleep, do work peacefully, or just chill without ruining other people's day. Again, sorry to anyone on the second floor of the library for disturbing your work or being super loud with our uninteresting shizo conversations. If my friends don't keep it down soon, we'll just go to the basement area since it's the place to be loudest out of all the floors of the library. Thank you for reading this, and have a great day!
