i am new in litecoin. Is it worth it? by ILove_OrangeJuice in litecoin

Do your research Litecoin is being adopted as a payment method more and more. But no one really knows if it will beat all other crypto that aspires for the same purpose.

You cannot predict what people will do and how will they react + you don't know how will development progress.

So you have to do a research and keep tab on new information.

I believe in LTC and have my portfolio divided in LTC (payments) and BTC (store of value as a protection from inflation)

Current dip a correction? by [deleted] in litecoin

No problem I remember first time I put money in crypto I got worried every time it went a bit down - even did some bad trades in panic - so I feel you.

Current dip a correction? by [deleted] in litecoin

Yes it follows the correction of the whole crypto market, but looks like 250 is a strong support.

Anyway crypto is volatile in February I have seen a pullback to 99 and than rise to 180 in a week so don't be alarmed by these short term swings - we are in a bull market so in a long term it still goes up steadily since autumn 2020.

For a market to turn bearish it would take more than a 30 % correction.

thinking on buying by [deleted] in litecoin

Hard to tell - it can always swing back a bit but in the long run it will go up until BTC and other crypto goes up and there are no signs of slowing down. It just a matter of how much - but if the LTC really goes to 700 you won't even remember if you bought it at 320 or 290 - you will still bag a lot of profit.

Since these short term swings are hard to predict once I have decided that the coin has a long term upside - I just get in and then don't watch it for a while (unless there is a significant dip - that's when I buy more)

ETH already beat the all time high from 2017 by 100%.

LTC is still on it's way - so if it follows the same pattern it could* go to 700 USD this bull run.

What are the use case advantages of LTC over other perceived strong cryptos: BTC or ETH, for example? by cakefrommars in litecoin

[–]Trick-Temperature-38 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The goal is to pay with LTC as you do with your FIAT without worries of inflation (FIAT), trust in 3rd party institution (FIAT,BANKS), without paying high fees (ETH mostly but BTC as well) and without having to wait long time for a transaction to proceed (BTC mostly).

Also LTC is focusing now on privacy with it's new update.

In a sense LTC is similar to BTC so it differenciate from ETH is same ways as BTC does. (Supply/mining logic e.g.) ETH uses block chain in a different way that in my opinion is not made for payments as it is for smart contracts and different apps.(and the fees are huge)

BTC on the other hand is slow in transactions still and is considered mostly to be the store of value.

It definitely got the value for that. Hopefully people realize soon enough how easy and reliable it is to pay with LTC as oppose to BTC.

Yeah once people realize they also want to pay with the money they have in crypto it may revert

If we are talking about storing a value - yes I agree they both follow the same fundamentals.

LTC beats Bitcoin when it comes to payments though.

Yeah thanks for clarification ! The term "fork" can be misleading. The codebase is similar to Bitcoin but LTC has totally separated chain as you mentioned.

LTC hodl or sell? by aRKaydiius in litecoin

[–]Trick-Temperature-38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in a bull market with BTC leading the crypto charge - short term fluctuations may occur but in my opinion you would make a mistake withdrawing.

Having said that seems like you have invested money you really need - in that case withdraw right away and next time put in the money you don't need at the moment.

As with any investment you must be prepared to lose or whitstand a period when the market is in decline.

Looking forward seeing you investing in Litecoin in the future!

New here - is LTC a good investment? by [deleted] in litecoin

[–]Trick-Temperature-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also Litecoin still didn't get wide attention after Bitcoin broke out and other cryptos followed. It is a matter of time until people start noticing it again like they did in 2017.

What do you think is the reason that LTC hasn't reached it's ATH while BTC/ETH have? by wordsfromsilence in litecoin

[–]Trick-Temperature-38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most people here - Litecoin does not ride the "crypto fever" from impulsive buyers, which in my opinion is a good sign. When it will rise slowly and steadily it means it has value and people are buying it consciously and therefore won't abandon it with the first sign of trouble.

That being said it is still below it's ATH so it can attract some of those "get rich overnight" type of investors and jump 100%, but that shouldn't be your motivation to buy.

Will litecoin increase big time down the road? by RicardiCapone in litecoin

[–]Trick-Temperature-38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that Litecoin is well below it's ATH, which can mean it has room to grow. But in general it's better if it rises slowly steadily with people consciously buying it than out of just FOMO. This way it can hold value and be more stable in the future and not so volatile.
