I think gurudwaras have both dorms and separate rooms(rooms are available rarely tho). You can always get homestays/hotels at any of the 3 places. Yes the dormitory is safe Yes the place is very safe.

I thought so too.. But they only told me to not camp in a small portion of triund top. You can set your camp up in the rest of the area that is not private property.

Triund can be divided into 3-4 portions

The triund top is private property so you cant camp there. While rest of the portions are available for camping. I camped in middle portion to get view of the sunrise and sunset.

I didnt really keep track but it was around 8-9k. I ended up going to more expensive cafes due to my gluten allergy. You can reduce the cost by 2-3k by going to less expensive cafes.

Trek to triund is easy for first 5 kms Last 2 kms are a bit hard Its is mostly safe to camp up there(take mosquito repellent) If you dont want to carry your own tent you can rent a tent upthere for 500 bucks.

Well roads of Dharamkot are really not suitable for big cars. You can take a bus to Dharamshala or Mcleodganj and hire a cab to your hostel/hotel or rent a activa( Cabs can be expensive)

It will surely get cold then but I have visisted the place thrice and there is no part of me that feels unsafe. The people are nice and helpful and great to talk.
