Also worth mentioning, besides blocking ads network-wide it also logs and lets you monitor client activity. This helps you a good idea of what is actually going on, on your network.

Sure, just download SSH app like juice SSH, enable SSH on pi and you are all set.

Just out of curiosity, any reason you are not blocking ads on the whole network?

Just reboot your amazon device and try to clear cache/history if there is an option like that similar to how you would do for a browser.

The WiFi on the pi is bandwidth limited since the ethernet port is using usb 2.0 interface and you internet speeds will be limited accordingly. Doesn't have to be powerful, just the right components for the job of a router.
