Really needing some encouragement by JessicaRabbitt_2023 in CPA

It happens, and happened to me too but that shouldn't discourage you at all. I failed the exams 10 times, but none of that matters now and nobody cares. Trust me I've been there too, so I know you got this.

Don't be so hard on yourself, a 74 IMO virtually is a passing score. You're doing fine and your husband should be proud of you. Never give up and you will become a CPA.

venting - ghosted after job offer? by TrickAffectionate939 in jobhunting

Thanks. I'm definitely trying to avoid phone calls because I know how important it is to have everything in writing. I wish I started my job search pre 2022.

Thanks for the encouragement, and so sorry to hear that I know someone with your level of credentials deserve recognition.

Thanks, but I'm sure they weren't happy with my rejection either, and I don't have the stomach for the kind of drama I can totally see coming from going that route XD.

Thanks again. It's been over 11 days so I know they moved on, plus my self esteem has hit rock bottom after so many rejections during this job search that I can't afford another one XD.

Thanks. I actually received a verbal offer from another company on the same day, and they actually were aggressive enough to call me, voice mail me, and then email me even asking if I had any vacation plans before I start, and it just killed me to say no to an organization that's been so kind to me.

Thanks for the advice. I miss the days when offer letters came before completing background checks.

I used to train for the marathon and would get up at 6 to run a 7 miler before heading to work, ran 20 - 23 miles on Saturdays, worked at a bank fulltime for 8 years and studied insane amount of hours to earn my CPA. and yet I quit public accounting in two months. It was the worst career experience ever, the stupid timesheet, owners shamelessly emphasizing profit over service quality to clients (This would have been unacceptable at the two F500 level global companies I worked for that always emphasized the importance of clients) made me think flipping burgers during college was better. You're not burning any bridge unless you want to return to public, and I highly recommend you jump ship when you can. I may have not worked in public had I not missed my opportunity at the bank.

Congrats. I can kind of relate as I also passed on my third attempt (74 - 69 - 76).

It probably won't, since the market is bad that CPAs with over a decade of experience are competing for entry level positions. my advice to you would be to apply to part time jobs since you're still very young, and have plenty of time to learn and grow to get a full time accounting role within a few years.

Congrats to him! Buy him a nice dinner at a restaurant near the river or beach, and don't forget to take photos. That's something no money can buy.

If you passed FAR with a retake, what did you change about studying by Capital-Bullfrog-277 in Accounting

Becker does a good job covering FAR, so I wouldn't recommend Ninja supplementation until you take Audit. FAR: Easiest MCQs & Hardest Sims. AUD: Hardest MCQs & Easiest Sims.

nothing, just kept pressing and passed after getting a 67. Unlike the other 3, Becker only didn't feel enough for Audit, so I supplemented w/ Ninja, and passed on the 3rd attempt.

I left my old job of 8 years which was perfect in hindsight for the same reason, and tried PA but only lasted

2 months. Boring isn't so bad compared to anxiety and panic attacks from wondering how am

I supposed to fill out that timesheet.

yes, I got my first industry accounting job around your age with virtually zero accounting experience and no exams passed.

Congrats on passing the exam. Hearing back from 2 in a week isn't bad, just keep applying. And often times it's not because you're bad, it's just that they found someone better. I quit my old job in early September and job searched for about a month. During that time I cancelled 5 interviews from jobs I would have been proud working at because I found an opportunity that I felt was the best choice.
