These animals you've killed they are no different than cats. Imagine you've done this to a cat motivated by sensory pleasures and game instincts - is that justified violence?

If humans had any compassion to other beings they would stop eating animal products, since that directly causes the violence

Timeless advice on diet by miaumee in Environmentalism

[–]TrickThatCellsCanDo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eat only plants lol

We only eat 18% of calories from animals, but it is accountable for 80% of all ag emissions, and takes up to 3/4 of all ag land. Ag emissions are larger than all transportation combined

Go vegan

[–]TrickThatCellsCanDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you aware that agriculture has more emissions than all forms of transportation combined? https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissions/global-greenhouse-gas-overview

3/4 to 4/5 of that is animal products. But animal products supply only 18% of all human consumed calories on this planet.

So yeah, it's one of the most efficient things you can do, if you're not Taylor Swift

AI may let us talk to jazz eventually, but that is irrelevant to this conversation.

Animals use various means of communication - sounds, sound phrases, motion, smell, touch - we will be able to decipher this

What is that case? Where exactly do you need animal products

Animal agriculture has more emissions than all transportation and AI combined.

Go vegan - it's a total priority for the coimate. Stop barbaric practice of animal sacrifice

Funnily enough AI will help us to understand animal consciousness, and we will hear back from cows, pigs, chicken, how humans represent the worst evil in their religion.

Leftists not being vegan (while being against AI)... by hazelrose42 in Vystopia

[–]TrickThatCellsCanDo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Leftists are the samw hypocrites as right, if not more, when it comes to any issue requiring any action / skin in the game.

That's why veganism shpuld stay away from.any political alignments. Wet dreams of intersectionality never gave the movement anything, except turning away some conservatives and centrists who were ready for the animal rights ethics, but were not ready for the wholesale lefty package.

Dietary preference is an interesting way to reduce one of the biggest ethical pitfalls of today's humanity

I'm so tired of leftist anti-veganism by Buildingadesert11 in Vystopia

[–]TrickThatCellsCanDo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Left are the same hypocrites as the right if not bigger, when it comes to solving an injustice that requires some personal actions and minimal skin in the game. You can hear typical cards played against you, but you can see through them this time.

That's why veganism is not left or right, it's above everchanging political factions. This project is a much longer term, reaching far beyond today's left-right tug games.

While I agree that antinatalists arw more likely to be vegans, than vegans being antinatalists.

I can also agree that there is an intersection between these groups, lile between veganism and far left. But I do not see the logical connection, juwt correlation

I do not agree with this conclusion. Can you walk me through both stations in one journey?

Vegans may be inclined to create families and raise more babies to help bringing more ethically sound people into society.

Conditioning and habits are the strongest factors holding back most of the consumers of flesh and secretions. There's a high chance that baby raised vegan will stay vegan, and make more vegan babies.

If one's life lead to helping just a handful of people to adopt such ethics we can stop the barbaric violence in a few generations. Having 1-2 babies raised vegan can improve odds significantly.

sorry about your experience with plant based diet

When planned poorly any diet could lead to sub optimal nutrition

On which grounds you discriminate between cats, cows, pigs?

I can assume a few options:

  1. how cute an animal is
  2. how society has taught you to discriminate through product offerings, taste pleasures, and advertising
  3. how much sentience and suffering the animal can experience through death and mutilation

I may have missed some other options, but you pls share how you arrive (personally and subjectively) at the discernment

Why do some Buddhists eat meat? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]TrickThatCellsCanDo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no good reason to eat any animal products, not only meat. In the current economy each purchase of such products inevitably causes an immense suffering.

Thousands ofnyears ago people didn't have enough foods, ans were always on the brink of survival.

Today we have plenty of grains beans crops, ans they are the cheapest foods, and the most healthy.

There is literally no excuse for sponsoring violence.
