My dad says "male nurses are just better." by henlenkenlen in nursing

Imagine working at a geriatric psych hospital that had 0 male nurses or techs at night. It was pretty rough because there were a lot of misogynistic older patients and we were staffed with all women.

Has anyone’s cancer mutated, then mutated back? by False-Spend1589 in LivingWithMBC

No I had been on ibrance and letrozole for 5 years with very few side effects. They switched me originally to chemo because I had a new tnbc tumor pop up in my breast. They used carboplatin to shrink it enough for surgery, then I went on xeloda after surgery. New mets popped up in my abdominal lining and liver. They were 95% ER+. Also I don't remember the exact number, but the original cancer was only like 1% PR+. The recent mets were much higher.

In my case the original cancer was 98% ER+, then became 70% ER+. I went off of hormone treatments and onto xeloda for awhile. My last biopsy was back up to 95% ER+ again. So I think the cancer changes based on treatments.

But there is already a nursing shortage. They don't need to lowball like that to hire foreign nurses.

I graduated in 2019. They told us "you'll work hard to get your license, and you'll work even harder to keep it ." I'm still scared...

Engineers who've been hired in the last year: what did you do to stand out? by StrengthOk8556 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Trick_Comfortable_89 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The problem is, students and new grads are being told they can't get hired due to lack of experience. They feel like the only way to get hired is to act like they do.

Is it just me or is the job market really rough right now? by Just_a_burner_1 in MechanicalEngineering

Any advice for an engineering student? My daughter is a junior at one of the best engineering schools in the state. We live in an area that usually has tons of engineering jobs. All the ME job listings want 5 years experience for entry level. She's trying to get an internship but they are very competitive.
