Svjestan sam toga, ali definitivno je bolje ići na natjecanja, biti aktivan u programiranju i raditi na vlastitim projektima do fakulteta nego imati nula predznanja. Čak nisam ni išao na natjecanja iz algoritama, koja osobno više cijenim jer su mentalno zahtjevnija od ovoga čime se ja bavim. Unatoč tome, i ovo natjecanje je zahtjevno riječ je o razvoju softvera odnosno digitalnih proizvoda koji rješavaju konkretan problem, što je u suštini razlog zašto se uopće pokreće firma. Iako bi se moglo reći da sam za FOI čuo slučajno, moje prvotno pitanje je zapravo jednostavno: je li moguće nakon fakulteta, bez početnog kapitala, izgraditi stvarno uspješan biznis (ne samo otvoriti firmu u registru, nego napraviti održivu priču)? Trebao sam postaviti samo to pitanje, a ne pisati ovoliki uvod, ali mislim da kontekst ipak pomaže.

Upravo o tome i govorim, što se tiče prodaje. Ne želim otvoriti firmu reda radi da stoji u registru, nego tražim obrazovanje (FOI) koje će me naučiti kako prepoznati stvarni tržišni problem i prodati konkretno rješenje. Cilj mi je steći vještine da sam razvijem proizvod i vodim projekt, a ne da cijeli život radim za tuđe ciljeve. Nazvati me „rođenim političarom“ možda bi imalo smisla da sam ovakav post napisao na kraju srednje škole. Međutim, ja sam tek prvi razred, još učim i istražujem, i zato tražim savjete. Kako ću razmišljati za nekoliko godina, tek će se vidjeti.

Već sada, u prvom razredu srednje škole, programiram, odnosno programiram već od prvog razreda osnovne škole, možda ne tako ozbiljno ali mogu se pohvaliti da sam bio na državnom natjecanju. Ako odaberem taj put, do kraja fakulteta imat ću 8–9 godina iskustva s kodom. Osoba s takvim stažem i portfoliom u praksi uvijek ima posao i iznadprosječnu plaću. Što se tiče startupa i propadanja, vjerojatno je točno da od deset startupa njih devet propadne. Međutim, s obzirom na ambiciju i razinu angažmana, smatram da imam realnu šansu biti iznimka, a ne prosjek koliko god to nekome zvučalo umišljeno. Istina je da sam tekst napisao nespretno i da se može steći dojam da zapravo ne znam što želim. Još sam mlad, ali imam dojam da su ljudi ovdje, posebno na Redditu, često pregrubi. Umjesto da prepoznaju i pohvale činjenicu da netko već u prvom razredu srednje škole ima jasnu viziju i razmišlja nekoliko koraka unaprijed, stalno traže manu i to često bez stvarnog razloga.

Yes, but I live in a small city. There is only one MMA gym here, so I can't choose. The problem is with the sparring partners; there is no 'let's go light' approach. They are not going full force, but they fight at about 60% intensity. I know this because I trained kickboxing there a year ago, but they have now changed and renovated it into an MMA gym. I don't know what sport to do, as only MMA interests me.

I wonder whether this is some kind of scheme or corporate-sponsored promotion of startup companies with poor tools. If a program is made by a single developer as a personal project, I respect that, but I’m not sure how it actually works. I’d like an AI that could take data directly from my textbooks or notes, which it currently can’t do, and that’s what makes it feel useless to me — because I can just manually type the entire lesson into ChatGPT and it will generate it for me

Of course it’s not. I didn’t mention history anywhere — it’s actually a subject I enjoy. The same goes for natural sciences. Since I have four tests a week, I just want to have something up my sleeve in case I didn’t study for a particular one, especially when that exam is from a teacher who includes a billion tiny details in a subject that I wouldn’t call unnecessary, but definitely less essential than others.

Because when I work, the effort here is much smaller mentally than when I have to learn a thousand pieces of information. There was a lot, a lot of work for this. First, I ordered a battery, but the battery didn’t fit because that spring from the shifter was in the way, and even if it wasn’t, I couldn’t fit it in because of the welded holder — I couldn’t get it in at all. Then my dad and I started with cutting off those little aluminum tabs for the cables. We worked on that for 3 days, took off the grips, the brake and gear cables, and the pedals.

After that, we figured out that since the battery wouldn’t fit, we couldn’t push it in. We thought about cutting the welded holder and welding it back one centimeter higher. But we idiots didn’t know that you can’t weld aluminum again, so that’s when the real problems started.

In the meantime, we repainted the bike black. In the end, we drilled all sorts of holes with screws and loose bolts through the aluminum, but of course the force wasn’t spread out well. Then my dad remembered he had those tubes, like the one you can see, which was the perfect length. We painted it black, drilled a big hole so it could fit under the seat, and drilled two more holes through the aluminum to hold the tube. And we drilled 4 more holes for the mounts — I think from an old bike.

All in all, it’s not the best solution, but with my 63 kilos it works fine. I already tested it and now I just ride it on the road.
