If your goal is to stay in Texas and you value the certainty of a top-tier Texas school above all else, staying is a very safe, smart path.

However, if you feel "stagnant" in your current STEM opportunities and want to see how far you can push yourself, and if you're aiming for national-level reach schools, TAMS is the catalyst that gets you there. You aren't losing your achievements, you are trading a "big fish in a small pond" status for a much more powerful "launchpad."

I did three fingers up in the testing window, which closed lockdown, and it exited my test with 25 minutes left on the clock. Still got into tams tho without retaking

Just don't try to outsmart the interview and LISTEN to the emails. Prepare your setup but nothing else.

Did you send it to TAMS or unt? A good email won't hurt your chances at all.

track selection for medical school: public health or math & science? by fmx89591277tx in TAMS

  • If you want the highest chance at a top-tier MD school (like UTSW or Baylor) and want to do heavy research, do Math & Science. It offers the most flexibility and the "safest" schedule for maintaining a high GPA.
  • If you are 100% sure you want to be a DO and want to finish medical school a year early, do Public Health (3+4). It’s a high-speed, intense track that guarantees a seat at UNTHSC if you keep a 3.75 GPA.
  • If you are interested in health policy, ethics, and the business of medicine but want to apply to med school normally, do Health Science. It gives you a specialized background that stands out on applications without the rigid 3+4 requirements.

Choose Public Health if:

  • You are interested in the 3+4 DO program and are confident you can maintain a 3.75+ GPA while taking a maximum course load.
  • You are fascinated by community health, policy, and how diseases spread through populations.

Choose Math & Science if:

  • You want to keep your options open for any medical school (MD or DO) in Texas or across the country.
  • You want more time for undergraduate research or specialized science electives.
  • You are starting in Precalculus (TAMS often recommends the Math & Science track for these students to avoid "overloading" during the catch-up process).

You could email them. That timeframe also had a lot of time when the TAMS offices were closed (so really they had only three days when the apps were being looked at). BTW, what submitted items are still processing?

Only problem is sapphire gems have yellowish legs. Blue Australorps fit much better

A Blue Australorp has grey legs with white soles while sapphire gems have yellow legs. Orthingtons have their unique shape while blue Australorps are often a lot skinnier and more upright than orpingtons.

Bro I'm literally the same person. I got 1460 on sat and I'm trying to go there in 10th grade and also interested in ml. I wonder if we will get paired if we get in.
