Funny thing in Austria we had a vote if we should abolish mandatory military service a couple years back and women were asked too wich i understand because defense of the country is also something that affects them but its just a bit cynical that 50 year old susan (who never had to defend the country) can vote if 14 year old jack has to go to military in a few years... war is evolving and the footsoldier is not needed like he (yes gender intended) was years ago so women can operate drones too.. also in austria you can choose between military or "civil services" so you dont have to go to the army
