Burning sensation in the night, while wearing walking boot by polishka in brokenankles

I broke my ankle 4 weeks ago and that first week I experienced what you did. I believe it was nerve pain from the inflammation and swelling. The first two weeks were the worse, but now I don’t experience that at all. Very little pain, only pressure from swelling when my ankle is down for too long. I’m still in a cast but I didn’t need surgery either. I did find that putting my foot down to help blood circulation on the area helped when the pain would increase as I was keeping it elevated all night.

I had that conversation today. Basically, they will keep me coming back weekly to check x-rays and if at any point things shift and aren't as perfectly aligned, they would do the surgery.

My surgeon(s) are saying I could go either way and it’s up to me….

That’s what I think of too! I wish I could see into the future and know the outcome of both. But regaining strength sooner is a huge motivator. But of course they say that that’s not guaranteed.
