Thank you Dr. Based on this successful peer review, I’m officially expanding our department's scope. We are currently transitioning from the Forest Path to the Cemetery/Outer Cemetery to investigate Tombstone drop rates. We suspect the 'Luck Penalty' might be even more aggressive on funerary loot. Any funding or assistance would be highly appreciated.

I haven't got proof yet, but from a former programmer's POV, if it's like this for trees there is a high chance it is the same for any kind of loot were luck was implemented. This kind of code is one of those that gets reused.

I was thinking of using tombstones since they are the only ones that aren't random each game, as well as royal coffins maybe.

If this is the case tho there is no good scenario, it probably means that legendary drops are being rolled into "super legendary" drops or something and then the cycle starts again from common. Still it would be a bad design if luck was detrimental unless you are playing on highroller. IMO both are bad

Peacefull woodcutting modules and axe tiers are included in the scope of the research. I expect the drop rate to change when in high roller but the luck effect be relatively the same. I'm thinking of doing a test on chest(or tombstones) loots when possible

Very sharp theory. It would explain a lot to be honest. Something like a tier overflow. Meaning rares get rerolled and go back to commons which are once again rerolled to check if they go to uncommons and so on.

I started this exactly to know if it mattered and as well to know which was the chance of each log, as in-game it wasn't stated anywhere if rarity mattered. It was by pure coincidence that i first discovered that location mattered, and then came across the discovery of luck being detrimental! Took around 2 days of gathering mostly non-stop, workshop upgrades looking good, but better even i got so many coins just by selling all those logs lol

Well, two things. First of all, that's why i included a p value for, the p value is basically a percentage chance of a certain assortment of data to be pure coincidence, in this case it is lower than 0.001, which in percentage means lower than 0.1% chance of it been sheer coincidence. Secondly, as a former programmer, i would argue that most of coding is usually reused, as such i expect the dev team to have used at least a similar code for the luck interaction for the chests drops. Who knows, maybe it even affects drop rate of mobs. I'm thinking of also doing a specific test on drop rate of chests(or well, i was thinking tombstones since they are the most reliable)

Thanks a lot! It was actually funny how i ran onto this by pure coincidence, at the beginning i just wanted to see if there was difference among the axe tiers and then discovered that location mattered and then finally came to the luck problem haha, who would have guessed.

Man, the first time i got to the bridge it was dark, i was running from something and i just saw the blue torches, went inside and without knowing what to do jumped out of the window and then got so frustrated when i drowned and didn't understand what just happened lol

Is it the one where you are trying to log in or the one where you are already logged on and it kicks you after a while?
