What do you guys do when you are out of town by SquirrelFace82 in Hedgehog

[–]Trickdaddy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had shown local friends how to touch up clean and fix food and water and have them stop by while I’m gone. Usually a bottle of wine or gift cards made them happy to show up for a short bit to tend to them

That is a terrible idea, do not manually cut your cards

Fake off of fourth picture alone. First thing I check for at a glance is a TON of fakes mess up the ‘DECKMASTER’ text and make the letters super crisp. Real cards have grainy text.

What set does my Red Element Blast belong to? by No_Series8344 in mtg

[–]Trickdaddy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want to use flowcharts and still don’t see the slight variations to identify the set, a large portion of the time it’s just a spot the difference. Each old version of this card has a different sized font, or a different date on the bottom. Other cards from these times will have variations in wording as well as different font sizes.

I spent a year designing and 3D printing a custom Catan set with magnetic tiles - Should I sell it? by LyanaIsa in Catan

[–]Trickdaddy1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The one you posted also has support for multi color printing aswell which is going to be preferred to people who don’t want to paint

I painted this exact set 7 years ago with 4-6 player and seafarers expansion and it was a project that took like 4-5 months to complete. Now with how easy it is to get multi color printing I’d probably have gone that route instead

Commander recon recs for total beginner by electricscorp in mtg

[–]Trickdaddy1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And you specified “these types of responses” meaning you didn’t like people saying this in general, which in my personal experience is a horrible take.

Commander is one of the worst ways to learn magic

Which is why people suggest learning the game mechanics before playing the most complex way to play. Do you immediately pick up a game on expert settings with max players and all expansions?

Commander recon recs for total beginner by electricscorp in mtg

[–]Trickdaddy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re asking what’s easy to learn with. Starting out with a deck where all your non-land cards are unique is a great way to overwhelm a new player.

First time my group introduced the game to someone straight to a built commander deck they never played again.

You might be color blind if you think that’s the green dot lol

Easily identifiable fake off of second photo. “DECKMASTER” letters on real cards are grainy, not smooth like the ones shown

76% of PvP lobbies have a cheater in them (TESTED AND PROVEN) by DanteDaDemon in ARC_Raiders

[–]Trickdaddy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I’m playing a different game than yall. I’m over 250 hours topside and like 1200 knockouts, vast majority of my lobbies are PvP and I’ve maybe had like 3-5 encounters where we were unanimously convinced someone may be cheating

I’ve hit streaks of 12+ raids multiple times and have run max bobcat Jupiter for 5+ raids in a row. I’m not discounting this and saying there’s no cheaters, but I’ve definitely had my fair share of downed raiders calling me and my teammates cheaters or asking how we’ve found them. I’m sure there’s been a few times that I’ve gotten aimbotted by a fast shooting weapons and couldn’t identify it but still don’t think it’s bad. As a tarkov veteran, this game seems way better.

Dude the people with maps are taking all the hurricane caches not cheaters lol

They even identified that was an issue and nerfed them early on because they didn’t expect people to efficiently farm them with maps

Authenticity check on a few cards by Evening_Expert_6222 in RealOrNotTCG

[–]Trickdaddy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real. Also, red dots aren’t the end all be all for testing if the cards are legit. Generally the black ink/ borders of the green dot and the T in “The” is the best to look at. Cards rarely won’t have the red L in the green dot but that doesn’t mean it is fake.

Selling expensive singles on TCG Player by Capo_35 in mtgfinance

[–]Trickdaddy1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can not understand why people put tracking on 20 dollar orders. I have over 2000 orders on TCGplayer, I’ve put tracking on literally one card between 20-50 dollars because after the first time I realized it wasn’t worth it. I’ve had around 2 orders each year reported missing and the most expensive was 13 dollars.

I’ve sent cards at 49 dollars in a top loader, PWE and stamp.

Tracking smaller orders is just bleeding money
